Role Overview

We’re looking for a high-ownership Operations Intern who wants hands-on exposure to how backend operations work at a fast-growing AI SaaS company. This is a real ops role, not a shadow internship. High performers may be considered for a full-time opportunity post internship.

What You’ll Do

• Support coordination with telecom operators and data center partners
• Assist in vendor management and asset tracking
• Handle operational queries via the ticketing system
• Support basic troubleshooting of assets and infrastructure (with guidance)
• Assist with day-to-day admin and backend operations

Requirements

Who Should Apply

• Graduates (BBA preferred; B.Com / BA / BSc welcome)
• 0–1 year experience or strong internship exposure in operations
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Comfortable with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Willing to learn technical and operational systems

Work Expectations

• 6-day workweek, roster-based (including occasional Sundays)
• Willingness to travel occasionally to data centers across India
• Fast-paced startup environment with real ownership

Responsibilities

• Build and scale production infrastructure in AWS for the HappyFox platform and its products.
• Research, Build/Implement systems, services and tooling to improve uptime, reliability and maintainability of our backend infrastructure. And to meet our internal SLOs and customer-facing SLAs.
• Implement consistent observability, deployment and IaC setups
• Lead incident management and actively respond to escalations/incidents in the production environment from customers and the support team.
• Hire/Mentor other Infrastructure engineers and review their work to continuously ship improvements to production infrastructure and its tooling.
• Build and manage development infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines for our teams to ship & test code faster.
• Lead infrastructure security audits

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in handling/building Production environments in AWS.
• At least 3 years of programming experience in building API/backend services for customer-facing applications in production.
• Proficient in managing/patching servers with Unix-based operating systems like Ubuntu Linux.
• Proficient in writing automation scripts or building infrastructure tools using Python/Ruby/Bash/Golang
• Experience in deploying and managing production Python/NodeJS/Golang applications to AWS EC2, ECS or EKS.
• Experience in security hardening of infrastructure, systems and services.
• Proficient in containerised environments such as Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes
• Experience in setting up and managing test/staging environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK
• Exposure/Experience in setting up or managing Cloudflare, Qualys and other related tools
• Passion for making systems reliable, maintainable, scalable and secure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to address, escalate and express technical ideas clearly
• Bonus points – Hands-on experience with Nginx, Postgres, Postfix, Redis or Mongo systems.

• Oversee the company's finances, providing leadership and coordination in financial reporting, treasury management accounting, and compliance
• Be a key part of the senior team, working closely with the CEO and senior leadership
• Take responsibility for funding documentation, diligence, and related financial coordination
• Strike alliances with leading banking and financial institutions for financial operations, marketplace operations, and the like
• Work in an entrepreneurial environment (i.e. open office, no separate cubicles, flat travel policies with economy class travel and no five-star stays, a hands-on, do-it-yourself culture, etc) and display a similar entrepreneurial spirit

Specific Prior Experience In

• Financial reporting & statutory compliance:
• Provide daily/weekly/monthly financial and management information reports including budget vs actual
• Responsible for accounting and financial systems, 100% statutory compliance and timely, adequate controls, and accurate bookkeeping
• Ensure legal and licensing compliance with periodic scanning of business models
• Taxation and audits:
• Develop appropriate processes to reduce the tax burden. Monitor compliance with statutory authorities for taxation
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and smooth closure of financials. Smoothly complete statutory and internal audits
