Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer for a local IT Services Management Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the application management of a B2C application to meet the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and fulfil customer expectations. 

You will act as a on-call-duty team in the time between 6 pm to 8 am, 365 days a year. 

We are seeking a hands-on Software Developer with strong experience in DevOps and Backend 

Responsibilities:

Problem Management & Incident Management activities: Identifying and resolving technical issues and errors that arise during application usage. 

Release and Update Coordination: Planning and executing software updates, new versions, or system upgrades to keep applications up to date.

Change Management: Responsible for implementing and coordinating changes to the application, considering the impact on ongoing operations.

Requirements:

Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience or equivalent work experience.

Skills & Expertise:

Proficient in ITIL service management frameworks.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experienced in project management methodologies (Agile, Kanban).

Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.

Language: English on a C2 Level.

Skills & Requirements

Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Testing, Unit Test, Spring Boot Test, Keycloak, Java 21 or lower version.

This role is physically based out of Mauritius and will require you to relocate to Mauritius. Relocation expenses like air tickets/work visa/permit/shared accomodation/medical insurance/daily travel costs will be borne by the company

The role of a senior java developer is to ensure high quality software development and delivery to the end client.

As senior software developer, you shall be the technical SME on the project and ensure that the team abide by the quality standard set on the project.

On the Java Expertise Center, you shall be contributing to the knowledge building committee where you will be coaching juniors and demy students

Key Skills:

 Very good knowledge in Java (at least from Java 8).

 Good knowledge of Spring boot

 Experience with JPA/Hibernate

 Experience in middleware such as MessageQueues

 Experience with REST interfaces and GRPC

 Experience with modern agile software development (Continuous Integration)

 Experience in securing APIs

 Knowledge in design patterns

1. Software Development

 Act autonomously in the delivery of tasks of simple to high complexities on projects.

 Participate actively with team members to reduce risks related to tasks and activities.

 Ensure deliveries (code, documentation, release notes) are executed within set quality standards and processes.

 Understand and apply standard methods, tools and processes in daily tasks.

 Participate in sprint backlog estimation.

2. Team coaching & technical reference on project.

 Work with the team architect to help coach team members and ensure they

abide by the technical standards set on the project.

 Coach new joiners and accompany them technically & functionally on the

project.

 Be the technical reference on the project, besides the architect.

 Communicate technical KPI to your project manager.

 Review code contributed by team members, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality standards.

 Act as a coach or trainer and contribute actively to the Java Expertise Center.

 A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices

 Participate in budget auditing activities as required by direct report in the capacity of a Developer

Key Dimensions:

 Ability to monitor unit test coverage and ensure team abide by same standard (Standard unit test coverage

of 60% on new and overall codes)

 Ensures Sonar analysis of project is as per quality gate and any deviations are tackled by the team

Job Description

• Responsible for the automation testing, test planning, and test script, in accordance to the customers’ requirements and organizational quality norms.
• Activities to be performed include:
  • Requirement analysis and design of software solutions based on requirements and architectural /design guidelines.
  • Testing of features and/or bug-fixing and delivering solutions in accordance with coding guidelines and on time with high quality.
  • Identification and implementation of unit and integration tests to ensure solution address customer requirements, and quality, security requirements of the product are met.
  • Performing code review and creation / support for relevant documentation (requirement/design/test specification).
  • Ensuring integration and submission of solution into software configuration management system, within committed delivery timelines.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years experience in Manual and Automation Testing especially in professional software product development.
• Proficient in one or more of the following technologies: RESTful APIs, Selenium Web driver Automation with .NET, Java, or other object-oriented languages like NodeJS, Cypress, etc.
• Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, and regression testing.
• Experience in Test Planning, Scripting, and Execution
• Experience in Cloud Technology(Azure) is a plus
• Good knowledge of cross-platform rendering issues between major browsers.
• Must have good analytical, debugging ad tracing skills.
