Backend Lead - Media Processing & Delivery

Job Description

We are looking for a great Java Developer who is passionate about working in the Microsoft tech stack using Java. Your primary focus will be on developing common reusable components and implementing them following well-known best practices. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving and an attitude to learn is essential. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Design and develop dockerised microservices for cloud 

 

Required skills and experience include:

• BS in Computer Science or other field of study and applicable work experience.
• Most likely 3-5 years of experience on Java Web Development.
• Experience in developing Microservices for cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) is preferred
• Experience in Spring Framework (Spring boot, spring Batch), Spring MVC, Microservice model, RESTful web services
• Experience in databases like SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB is desired.
• Should have hands-on experience on Hibernate, JPA or MyBatis or any other persistence framework.
• Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams 
• Knowledge of Maven/gradle
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes 
• Good Communication skills ( English)

Additional Information

• Should have experience of working in any previous IT Software company 
• Any additional certification will be a plus
• Comfortable working from Office.

 

The developer needs to have worked on NodeJS, DotNet and should be able to work independently. Working hours are mostly 9 hours a day and 5 days a week.

Requirements:

An ideal candidate for this role is someone who has-

• BE/BTech degree in Computer Science from a top engineering school
• 1-5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong problem solving skills and strong command on object oriented design, data structures, algorithms and other computer science fundamentals.
• Strong coding skills - professional experience in developing production-quality software in Java/Python
• Expertise in Web Services, Service-oriented architecture, Databases, NoSQL, Distributed systems, Cloud Technologies.
• Extreme software engineering skills to design and develop low-latency, high availability, internet-scale web services
• Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle and software engineering best practices
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Demonstrated ability to own software design and development end to end from requirements to launch.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Your Mission As a Senior Node.js developer, you will be working directly with our team towards the development of our product, in Node.js, Angularjs, MySQL and more. You are expert in Core JavaScript development and have a sharp knowledge on how to use the object model of JavaScript at best to make your code tidy and reusable. You will use MEAN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular.js, Node.js) along with Redis for queue management and MySQL for fast transactions. You have a strong product vision, to such an extent that you will be able to turn one line of requirements into a fully fledged feature. We deal with million of billions of records. Think “big data”. You will ensure that your code and queries are properly optimized so as to keep the app quick and responsive – and the servers up! We are deeply versed in reusability (so that we never have to reinvent the wheel). You know about the best Node.js plugins that you can find through npm to fulfill your needs, and you will build reusable components that you will leverage across the codebase.
