We are pursuing a complex set of problems that involve building for an international audience and for an industry that has largely been service-centric. As a SDE at GradRight, you’ll bring an unmatched customer-centricity to your work, with a focus on building for the long term and large scale.

You’ll contribute to frameworks that enable flexible/scalable customer journeys and tie them with institutional knowledge to help us build the best experiences for students and our partners.

SDET

GradRight is an ed-fin-tech startup focused on global higher education. Using data science, technology and strategic partnerships across the industry, we are enabling students to find the “Right University” at the “Right Cost”.

We are on a mission to aid a million students to find their best fit universities and financial offerings by 2025. Our flagship product - FundRight is the world’s first student loan bidding platform. We helped disburse more than USD 40 million in loans in 2020-21 and are growing aggressively.

Brief:

Quality is paramount at GradRight and as an SDET, you’ll own it. You will have a 360 degree view of how software quality impacts the entire business, with which you’ll identify and address problem areas, contribute to testing efforts on a daily basis as well as participate in setting up an impeccable QA organization for the long term.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in sprint ceremonies and work with engineers, PMs and UX designers to understand feature requirements that can be converted into test cases
2. Write/maintain test suites for new features, products and feature updates
3. Contribute to discussions around writing testable code and ensure that sprints come to a successful closure while taking QA into consideration
4. Constantly strive to keep test coverage to highest possible level
5. Be the release owner - create test plans, monitor execution, report on test execution and work with engineers to ensure that bugs are fixed before releases
6. Build testing frameworks to help improve the velocity of QA efforts across the organization
7. Work with production support engineers to troubleshoot issues before handing them off to engineering team, while owning issue resolution

Requirements:

1. At least 3 years experience as an SDET
2. Expertise in various testing methodologies like functional, integration, black box, performance, etc
3. Expertise in writing end to end automation tests for both mobile and web applications using frameworks like Selenium, Appium, Nightwatch, REST-Assured, etc
4. Experience in designing QA strategy and developing corresponding test automation scripts/frameworks
5. Passion for documentation and writing clean code
6. Strong understanding of software development workflows and agile tools like JIRA
7. Proficient in at least one programming language
8. Exposure to software design principles and patterns
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Brief:

As a BI Developer at GradRight, you’ll be working with Tableau and supporting data sources to build reports for the requirements of various business teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate business needs to technical specifications for reports and dashboards
2. Design, build and deploy BI solutions
3. Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau, Mixpanel, Google Analytics, etc)
4. Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
5. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
6. Develop and execute database queries, conduct analysis and prepare data to be shared with respective stakeholders
7. Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
8. Develop and update technical documentation around reports

Requirements:

1. At least 3 years of proven experience as a BI Developer
2. Experience at a startup
3. Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
4. In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
5. Working knowledge of Tableau
