An aesthetically pleasing design creates a positive response in people’s brains and leads them to believe the design works better. Users often perceive aesthetically pleasing design as design that’s more usable. We need Visual Designers who know how to make their design interfaces usable, how to draw the user’s eye to the correct information and functionality., and how to prioritise content on a page through size, colour, and the use of negative space. We need visual designers who have mastered the basics of UI, graphic design, branding, and visual communication. This is because they have to translate a brand’s style and voice into a beautiful yet usable design. We take our design process seriously. So research via surveys, customer feedback, heat mapping, and analytics forms a core part of our process. Our designs go through an internal design checklist so that we achieve user goals while keeping in mind technical limitations. You need to be someone who’s flexible, agile, responsive and honestly, calm! You will be juggling multiple projects. The office environment is young and dynamic. It's a work-hard, play-hard culture. The Pepkidz team is growing and is now looking for a Graphic Designer | Illustrator. The role requires ideating and creating various content (Social media ads, comic & story books, character design, illustrations for curriculum, static and animated content) for digital and social platforms, web design, and UI projects. The role also requires you to have a good understanding of the current design trends to compose clear, persuasive, original themes and designs.You will have the ability to cohesively work and brainstorm with the team - to develop the best possible ideas, campaigns, content, designs, or other ongoing work. Needs to be a stellar team worker – with the right attitude. You will be working on multiple projects at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines. And most importantly, you should love the industry and your work

Roles and responsibilities

• Study design briefs and determine requirements.
• Schedule your projects as per the deadline.
• You would ensure the understanding of internal processes and successfully run with them
• Ability to cohesively work with the curriculum and marketing team - to develop ideas, campaigns, websites, apps, or other ongoing work.
• You would manage the quality of Social Content in partnership with the copywriter and design lead.
• Conceptualise visuals based on requirements and prepare rough drafts to present ideas.
• Create illustrations and character designs using the software.
• Managing quality of ideas and design and proof check, amend, revise or redevelop/repurpose adverts or campaigns in response to feedback from the design lead.
• You will be working on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines.
• Keeping up to date with popular culture and trends; monitoring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
• A good team worker – with the right attitude – willing to work cohesively to co-create and brainstorm to provide solutions to their best ability.

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• You should have 1-4 years of experience in an advertising agency/design studio with experience working in digital and social media. 
• Illustration skill is a must and hands-on knowledge of motion graphics is a plus point.
• Awards for past campaigns will be an added advantage.
• Experience working on integrated campaigns – with a great portfolio of work that boasts of client satisfaction, meeting creative quality standards, or meeting the requirements of the campaign.
• Excellent understanding of the most modern styles of art and design, with impeccable aesthetic sense.
• Software knowledge – Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects.
• Please share your portfolios as well.

• Translate ideas into concepts, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
• Work with a cross-functional team of engineers, content writers, and product managers to anticipate and identify user needs and align product goals with the user's goals.
• Come up with features and improvements that you can ship quickly and measure for effectiveness.
• Design and discover workflows that allow you to test designs early and often, and then iterate upon feedback.
• Identify new product opportunities, inform launch decisions, and product improvements.
• Use and evolve our internal design libraries and design system.
• Work closely with engineers and other partners to ensure what is shipped is true to your design work.
• Help with hiring and establishing a design culture within the company by evangelizing thoughtful design and its impact on the bottom-line.
• Directly contribute to the overall product and design direction of the whole company.

• You have an online portfolio that documents your work and thinking process - or a PDF would do too. (If not, you might be asked to take a design assignment)
• You have a high bar for your work and the team.
• Strong empathy for users
• You have solid Visual Design, UI, and Interaction Design chops.
• You are someone who cares deeply about getting to the root of the problem you're solving and take time to understand all the facts before making informed design decisions.
• You engage complexity head-on before simplifying.
• You have a strong bias for action when it comes to prototyping to help facilitate better product discussions.
• You understand the balance between craft, speed, and impact on the bottom line.

What you'll be doing :

• You'll be creating the best-in-class mobile designs for users on the Android platform, including visual & motion graphics, flash animation to explain the concepts.

• Asset creations, icon design, for the final deliverable for the release of the phone.

• You'll be continuously keeping an eye on the latest user interactive designs and leveraging those in one's own and the team's work as necessary.

• Create a look consistent with all of Indus OS while pleasing our users.

• Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.

Your Profile :

• Candidate with 4+ years experience.

• B.des, M.des from IIT(IDC) /NID/ Symbiosis/ MIT/ other design colleges.

• Creative and imaginative-, loves to explore.

• Ability to translate a concept into a visual form that explains the concept and able to give justification for each design decision.

• Strong penchant towards all things technology

• Comfortable presenting ideas and designs

• Capable of working within deadlines in a fast-paced environment, often on multiple projects

• Exceptional understanding of the graphic and the functional aspects of design and the ability to execute both

• A strong and creative portfolio with varied projects (this is important to evaluate the capabilities of interested candidates)

• Proficient with Adobe design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash)
