We are looking for a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate should be proficient in both SQL and NoSQL databases, experienced in building microservices using Spring Boot, and have a solid grasp of multithreading and concurrency in Java.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build solutions based on microservices architecture ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Work with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
• Optimize application performance through multithreading and concurrency management.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.

Required Skillset:

• 5–8 years of professional experience in backend development using Java.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization techniques.
• Good grasp of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the advertising service architecture team:
The advertising service architecture team is responsible for the the federation of services that support our real-time advertising exchange ecosystem. We currently process ~500k transactions per second on AWS infrastructure typically clearing bids in under 25ms. This team focuses on developing and supporting real-time java systems using non-blocking io and event driven architecture to solve problems such as request enrichment, filtering, and general data collection all of which are critical to our operations.

A bit about you

You will:

• Lead the engineering efforts across multiple software components
• Write excellent production code and tests and help others improve in code-reviews
• Analyze high-level requirements to design, document, estimate, and build systems
• Coordinate across teams to identify, resolve, mitigate, and prevent technical issues
• Coach and mentor engineers within the team to develop their skills and abilities
• Continuously improve the team's practices in code-quality, reliability, performance, testing, automation, logging, monitoring, alerting, and build processes

You have:

• Education and professional experience:
• PHD or Master’s degree in Computer or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in technology
• The following skills: C++, C++14, Unix, Multithreading and Data structures

.Additional nice to have skills/certifications: Perl, Shell scripting, Python, Awk, Sed, Protocol Buffers, Aerospike, Redis, Kinesis. Good hands experience on AWS.

• Design, develop, and test functionality for the latest app design.
• Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and develop new features.
• Take requirements and specs from design to development and be the first line of quality assurance.
• Understand user requirements—these apps have to meet real-world scenarios.
• Support the Supersub Mobile application in its entirety, including working on bug fixes and improving application performance, reliability and stability.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency.

What you bring:

• 3+ years of experience in building Java, Node JS applications. 
• Experience in Building Robust REST APIs Using MEAN or MERN Stack. 
• Good programming skills, with the ability to Perform UI testing, Debugging Taking the ownership of the complete lifecycle of a product. 
• Solid experience with Unit Testing. 
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment) 
• Experience with deploying the code in AWS or AZURE is a plus. 
• Ability to write clean code and document the same to develop functional APIs and Admin Panel. 

Proven work experience in building a product is a plus. And the candidate must have an Engineering CS background.
