About the Role

• Initiate and drive technical decisions on a multi-functional, Agile team alongside

product management, product design, and engineering

• Work closely with product to translate abstract business and product requirements

into crisp technical specifications along with a delivery roadmap

• Resolve blockers and help the team stay productive

• Perform code and design reviews

• Take part in building the team and iterating on hiring processes

Must have Requirements for the Role

• 8+ years of experience in a highly technical role at hyper-growth startup or fast-paced

company and 2+ years of experience leading a team

• Production level experience with Node.js or Go mandatory.

• Experience building highly available and performant applications in any major

programming language (e.g. Node.js, Go, Javascript)

• In-depth knowledge and experience working with major cloud platform (e.g. AWS

(must have experience))

• Experience leading product teams

• You are a good communicator who can explain technical concepts to product

managers, designers, support and other engineers

• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment and with

geographically distributed teams

• In-depth knowledge of database and web security

How We Define Success:

• Ensure the projects are delivered within reasonable timelines that meet the

acceptance criteria set by the stakeholders

• Ensure technical debt is being measured and tackled

• Ensure the non-functional requirements are being taken into account while delivering

features: performance, security and testing

Nice To Have, but Not Required:

• Good understanding of GCP, Azure

• Worked in a early-stage startup environment

• Good understanding of micro services

The tech stack looks like the below (expect this to change as we scale):

1. Typescript for APIs (REST and GraphQL)
2. Kafka, Spark, and data warehouses for ML pipelines (spark on python/scala)
3. Solidity + hardhat for smart contracts (in the future, rust, go and move)
4. AWS & Terraform
5. Full nodes

You can expect to do some or all of the following:

1. Read through protocols’ whitepapers and smart contracts to derive metrics and analyze risks
2. Architect the backend for APIs, async jobs, and blockchain integration
3. Build clean, concise APIs for customer integration, along with the documentation
4. Setup, run and maintain full and archive nodes across different chains
5. Integrate with multiple partners like exchanges and custody providers
6. Fool-proof security across the stack - encryption, hashing, privacy, VPC, etc.
7. Infrastructure as code - build terraform scripts and ensure easy replication of the infra across different regions
8. Research the top DeFi protocols to uncover better insights for our customers and evaluate their risk profiles, security, and historical returns
9. Manage production deployments, logging, and monitoring

We expect you to be fairly comfortable with working with both web3 and web2 stacks. We do not expect that you have web3 experience on day 1, but you should be willing to wear multiple hats, learn things quickly and move fast.

1. Generalist, a solid engineer who can learn things on your own and have an eye for clean, tested, and well-documented code
2. We don’t look at the number of years of work experience as a criterion, but rather see what you have done in your life so far (side projects, open-source contributions, blogs, etc.). We don’t care about degrees, the institutions you went to, or the companies you worked for before. We are open to talking as long as you have good judgment, great clarity, align with our values and have a strong track record of thoughtful work
3. Understand the fundamentals of building and integrating APIs and secure systems. Bonus if you know a bit about blockchains and protocols
4. You can be strong on the backend, front-end, or can dabble everywhere. We want you to play to your strengths and will provide enough opportunities to learn and do things outside of your comfort zone

• Graduate/Post Graduate in Engineering or related stream of IT/Software
• Individual contributor with the ability to work as a strong team player to execute tasks assigned to the development team based on pre-defined deadlines
• Energetic, innovative, self-motivated, with critical thinking ability
• Keen to work in a fast-paced environment and willing to put in additional efforts to complete challenging tasks

• Strong coding skills in PHP, Code Ignitor, Laravel, MySQL, SVN/Git, AJAX, JQuery
• Excellent RDBMS (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Couchbase) database skills
• API based development knowledge is must
• Working experience of Agile and JIRA
• Exposure to AWS, Memcached, Redis, Ngnix, Elastic Search, and Solar is desired
• Good understanding of OOPs
• Experience in writing technical specifications

Team Human Resources

• Writing scalable, robust,, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code

• Translating software requirements into stable, working, high performance software

• Playing a key role in architectural and design decisions, building toward an efficient micro services distributed architectur

• Strong knowledge of Go programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms

• Knowledge of common Goroutine and channel patterns

• Experience with the full site of Go frameworks and tools, including:

  • Dependency management tools such as Godep, Sltr, etc.
  • Go’s templating language
  • Go’s code generation tools, such as Stringer
  • Popular Go web frameworks, such as Revel
  • Router packages, such as Gorilla Mux

• Ability to write clean and effective Godoc comments

• Familiarity with code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial)
