• Scale + MLOps Optimise ML pipelines and fix autoscaling by applying queuing theory while juggling CPU / GPU memory contention.
• RAG & Knowledge Systems Design and deploy retrieval-augmented generation pipelines—chunking strategies, embedding models, reranking, and evaluation loops.
• AI Video & Image Processing Build rendering pipelines, diffusion-model integrations, and real-time video processing at scale. You'll own at least one project like these—design, build, iterate.

Signals You're Probably the Right Fit

• Strong in at least one other language (Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java …); happy to learn more.
• First principle understanding of how LLMs, embeddings, vector databases and AI Agents work
• Evidence of shipping real AI-powered software—OSS, side projects, or production features.
• Comfortable navigating the fast-moving AI landscape—papers, new model releases, evolving APIs.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Egnyte is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Engineering department. The Engineering department builds large distributed components and services that run Egnyte's Cloud Platform. Our code serves billions of requests per day with sub-second latency in a fault-tolerant environment. We process and analyze millions of files and events on a daily basis. Some of the responsibilities for this department include Egnyte's Cloud File System, Content Classification, Content Lifecycle Management, User Behavior Analysis, Object Store, Metadata Stores, Search Systems, Recommendations Systems, Synchronization, and intelligent caching of multi-petabyte datasets. We are looking for candidates with a shared passion for building large-scale distributed systems and a keen sense for tackling complexities that come with scaling through multiple orders of magnitude.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

• Design and develop highly scalable and resilient cloud architecture that seamlessly integrates with on-premises systems
• Drive the team’s goals and technical direction to find and pursue technical opportunities that make Egnyte’s cloud platform more efficient
• Effectively communicate complex design and architecture details
• Understand company and industry-wide trends to help develop new technologies
• Conceptualize, develop, and implement changes that prevent key systems from becoming unreliable, under-utilized, or unsupported
• Own all aspects of critical software projects from design to implementation, QA, deployment, and monitoring

Qualifications 

• BS, MS, or PhD. in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8-15 years of professional experience in engineering with history of technical innovation
• Experience providing technical leadership to engineers

Bonus Qualifications (Good to Have) 

• Breadth of knowledge across infrastructure domains, with the ability to reason about everything from data center machine software to database solutions to machine learning infrastructure to front-end web or mobile applications
• Demonstrated success in designing and developing large scale, complex systems
• Expertise with multi-tenant, highly complex, cloud solutions; experience with Hybrid and/or on-premises solutions desired

Role Description : Senior Java Developer

As a senior developer you will be responsible to manage the software development life cycle from planning to prioritizing to testing and release. Responsibilities includes gathering system and team product requirements, building java modules and testing features before release. Should have hands on experience developing software with agile methodologies and are ready to lead our junior developers.

Responsibilities • Contribute to all phases of development lifecycle. • Planning of API workflow. • Understanding the requirements all the teams involved and planning the development process. • Write well designed, testable, efficient code. • Prepare and produce releases of software components. • Support continuous improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architecture review. • Designing, implementing, and maintaining java applications that are often high-volume and low latency. • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and advise solutions to these problems. • Develop highly scalable REST APIs to use in our applications. • Guide the team and help them in any complex situations.

Required Qualifications We are looking for individuals who are curious, excited about learning, and navigating through the uncertainties and complexities that are associated with a growing company. Some qualifications that we think would help you thrive in this role are: • Minimum 8+ Years in a Java programming. • Expert hands-on knowledge of latest technology, good exposure to web technologies and open to all technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud computing, any DB. • Very good exposure to DevOps concepts and tools, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. • Quick learner believes in continuous learning and acts as a catalyst for building the culture within the organization. 

• Analytical thinking skills, problem solving with strong exposure to root causing tools and techniques and ability to come up with solutions in complex situations. • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns. • Bachelor/Masters of CS/IT Engineering, BCA/MCA, B Sc/M Sc in CS/IT

Preferred Qualifications • Deep insights of Java and J2EE internals such as memory management, transaction management, etc. • Skill for writing reusable Java libraries. • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git. • Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle. • Ability to work without guidance and under tight deadlines. • Result oriented and focused on meeting deliverable timelines. • Teamwork and willingness to listen to others. • Communicate effectively • Good knowledge of microservices. • Expertise in developing enterprise level web applications and RESTful APIs using Microservices with demonstrable production-scale experience. • Strong background working with Linux/Unix environments. • Working experience in industry standard protocols related API security. • Clear understanding of web services and SOA related standards like REST/OAuth/JSON.

Your Impact:

•                 Implements Digital Consumer experiences based on a foundation of SFCC (Salesforce commerce cloud) to meet expected quality standards

•                 Ensures functional requirements and high-level solution designs are understood and are translated into detailed technical design

•                 Implement proofs of concept to prove any new technologies, application flows or integration scenarios and identify customizations needed to SFCC platform for meeting client requirements

•                 Guides the performance tuning and scalability of the ecommerce solution

•                 Diagnose and solve technical problems during implementation and support phases

Your Skills & Experience:

•                 1-3 Years with 2+ years of implementing commerce application on any eCommerce platform in last 3 years

•                 If you have not worked in eCommerce platform, we can still discuss with you if you are expert in Java/.Net and understand REST/SOAP webservices.

•                 Demonstrate proficiency in build and release management using CI/CD strategies (leveraging tools like Jenkins and DevOps practices), implement Mocha/Chai unit and functional test cases in order to reduce costs while ensuring quality

•                 Contributes to designing, implementing and documenting the build release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the applications

•                 Participates in technical walkthroughs/ code reviews of other team members’ components, test plans and results and help them with gaps

•                 Collaborate with architect to define implementation processes and quality gates and standards

•                 Identifies risks and issues, and help monitor them

•                 Guides the development of reference and resource materials

•                 Mentors developers in improving their platform knowledge and development skills

•                 Communicate technical design to the developers and help/guide them in the implementation

•                 Participates in Agile sprints
