About the Role

This is not a feature-delivery role. We are looking for an AI Lead who can architect, own, and scale intelligent backend systems end-to-end. You will drive both technical direction and execution — working across LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, agentic AI workflows, and cloud-native backend systems for global clients.

What You'll Do

• Architect and scale backend systems powering AI-driven applications
• Design and implement RAG pipelines, AI agents, and LLM integrations
• Own systems end-to-end — from architecture to deployment and scaling
• Integrate and optimize LLMs (Claude, GPT, Gemini) for real-world production use cases
• Build high-performance distributed systems with observability and cost efficiency
• Lead backend and AI initiatives with strong technical ownership
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across teams
• Collaborate with product and AI teams to deliver AI-native solutions

What We're Looking For

• 6–10 years of strong backend engineering experience
• Hands-on expertise in Python (FastAPI / Django / Flask)
• Deep understanding of Generative AI and LLM-based systems
• Strong experience with RAG pipelines and Vector Databases (Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB, Weaviate)
• Solid knowledge of Agentic AI — building autonomous agents and multi-agent workflows
• Proficiency in AWS or GCP in production environments
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and system design
• Strong grasp of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns
• Familiarity with WebSockets, Git, Linux/Unix, and CI/CD

Nice to Have

• Experience with Anthropic Claude API and Claude Code
• Familiarity with real-time data systems or streaming (Kafka, etc.)
• MLOps and AI system lifecycle experience
• Optimizing AI systems for latency, cost, and scalability

Job Description:

• Experience in Core Java, Spring Boot.

• Experience in microservices.

• Extensive experience in developing enterprise-scale systems for global organization. Should possess good architectural knowledge and be aware of enterprise application design patterns.

• Should be able to analyze, design, develop and test complex, low-latency client-facing applications.

• Good development experience with RDBMS in SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle or DB2

• Good knowledge of multi-threading

• Basic working knowledge of Unix/Linux

• Excellent problem solving and coding skills in Java

Responsibilities include:  

• Develop and maintain data validation logic in our proprietary Control Framework tool 
• Actively participate in business requirement elaboration and functional design sessions to develop an understanding of our Operational teams’ analytical needs, key data flows and sources 
• Assist Operational teams in the buildout of Checklists and event monitoring workflows within our Enterprise Control Framework platform 
• Build effective working relationships with Operational users, Reporting and IT development teams and business partners across the organization 
• Conduct interviews, generate user stories, develop scenarios and workflow analyses  
• Contribute to the definition of reporting solutions that empower Operational teams to make immediate decisions as to the best course of action 
• Perform some business user acceptance testing 
• Provide production support and troubleshooting for existing operational dashboards  
• Conduct regular demos and training of new features for the stakeholder community 

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Information Technology or related field of study 
• Minimum 5 years’ of SQL required 
• Experience querying data on cloud platforms (AWS/ Azure/ Snowflake) required 
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and organization 
• Able to independently troubleshoot and gather supporting evidence  
• Prior experience developing within a BI reporting tool (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, Looker, Information Builders) a plus  
• Database Management and ETL development experience a plus 
• Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed  
• Able to multi-task to meet time-driven goals  
• Asset management experience, including investment operation a plus 

Required Skills:

• 4+ year of experience in Development in JAVA technology.
• Strong Java Basics
• SpringBoot or Spring MVC
• Hands on experience on Relational Databases (SQL query or Hibernate) + Mongo (JSON parsing)
• Proficient in REST API development
• Messaging Queue (RabitMQ or Kafka)
• Microservices
• Any Caching Mechanism

Good to Have Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in using Java/J2EE tech stacks
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.

• Experience in technical mentorship/coaching is highly desirable.
• Understanding of AI/ML algorithms is a plus.

• Owns team's output and E2E definition and execution of SDLC. Drives sprint planning, estimates & prioritizes tasks, Keeps key stakeholders updated on progress, milestones, and any potential slippages.
• Identifies pitfalls across codebases proactively. Writes model code that is looked up to. Understands internals of programming languages & runtimes. Creates common reusable components/libraries- Uses advanced data structures.
• Designs API contracts between large systems with end-to-end service design and active leadership towards long-term sustainability including versioning, complex migration plans, impact analysis across products.
• Owns NFRs and pushes the envelope on performance, scalability, and high availability with cognizance towards the cost of infra. Drives tech stack selection independently, mentors junior engineers. Evangelises of generic platform building across the organization.
• Troubleshoots unseen issues across codebases. Solves large end-to-end cross-cutting problems with elegant solutions with an eye on long-term sustainability.
• Partners with and influences product managers on “how”. Leads the pack on hiring and evangelizes steeper hiring standards towards building an A+ team. Represents company on external platforms/conferences.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
• 7+ years relevant work experience in software engineering while leading teams.
• Proficiency in more than one modern programming language such as Python (preferred) associated tech stack to write maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code
• Experience in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered
• Should be strong with System Design and Database designing
• Deep understanding of design patterns, optimizations, deployments with Strong object-oriented design skills
• Experience mentoring other software engineers.
