Software Development Engineer Testing (SDET) -Automation

Roles and responsibilities:

• Good understanding of QA methodology, automation expertise and ability to code.
• A keen understanding of the latest trends and their role in a commercial environment is needed.
• Develop, Execute the test cases and Report Bugs
• Send regular status reports, on bugs and functionality, tested
• Record test results, screenshots, etc. (failed ones)
• Create the test report and Conduct post-testing clean-up
• Run the regression tests
• Suggest fixes, identify functional problems and document technical issues and solutions
• In-depth knowledge of the SDLC as well as various software testing methodologies.
• Perform Functional/Black box testing, SQL queries, and Data Analysis.
• Using Bug tracking (Trello/JIRA), Project Tracking and SVN software produced various reports/metrics.
• Support the testing phase (system testing, SIT, UAT, non-regression testing) and ensure quick turnaround of defect fixes.
• You will participate in design and specification reviews, and use this information to design test plans.
• Manage and communicate regular updates on project status like work completed, work in progress, next steps, risks, mitigation, quality to QA manager and stakeholders.
• Present complex technical ideas (both written and verbal), anticipate potential objections and persuade others to adopt the most appropriate view.
• Establish an end-to-end view and capture all key requirements. establish clear functional and non-functional requirements like capacity, availability, and response times.
• Ensure that all requirements are 'testable' and agree on test strategy with the business and test team lead.
• Should have basic knowledge on integrating API Keys for AI tools.

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)

Responsibilities

Excellent command of Manual Testing and Automation Testing (Any tool).

Good knowledge of UI automation using Selenium or equivalent

Good knowledge in writing advanced SQL queries and data validation techniques Solid knowledge of SDLC and STLC concepts, Functional Testing

Fundamentals Good Experience of working in an Agile environment

and Expected skillset (Good to have)

Experience working with defect management tools like JIRA Well versed with all types of testing artifacts.

• Lead and manage a team that:
• Reviews and refines software requirements.

• Identifies and drafts steps to reproduce defects utilizing our defect tracking system, JIRA.
• Enters and tracks defects to closure.
• Utilizes testing tools to increase the effectiveness of testing.
• Maintains test environments that mimic our production systems.
• Maintains and updates Selenium driven UI automation test cases.
• Maintains and updates ReadyAPI API automation test cases.
• Maintains and updates manual test cases.
• Maintains and updates JMeter performance/load test cases.
• Coach, mentor, and assist the team in performing their duties as needed.
• Provide formal QA approval and reporting for each release.
• Operate within the SAFe Agile methodology.
• Coordinate with other QA teams across the company.

• Experience leading a SQA or Software Development team
• Experience managing projects and processes cross-functionally

• In-depth knowledge and experience in one or more of the following technologies: Java, Python, Selenium, JMeter, ReadyAPI
• Automation planning, execution, and triage for projects on multiple Platforms.
• Excellent presentation skills, distilling complex analysis and concepts into concise business-focused takeaways
• In-depth knowledge and experience in identity management including OpenID Connect, SAML2, OAuth2, and SCIM.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of application security testing.
• Unix command line scripting skills

• Critical thinking skills - You know how to think from a customer's perspective throughout the entire development cycle #empathy. You should be able to create lots of "What If" scenarios and make sure the app is battle-tested to handle those scenarios.
• Quick learner - Typito app is changing at a rapid pace, there is no single way to handle issues that come up. You must adapt quickly to new tools and techniques that keep improving your own workflow.
• Collaboration skills - As mentioned above, you'll be collaborating with developers and product managers, alike.
