Job Description

• Review client requirements and internal specifications. Apply/create user stories, use cases and requirements to develop and document test artifacts and procedures.
• Test for functionality, usability and accessibility and responsiveness by executing all levels of testing (Unit, Integration, and Regression) across multiple devices and platforms.
• Identify, report and track software defects and inconsistencies by describing issues in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with other test team members, designers, developers, and product management to deliver a quality solution for our customers.
• Help improve the efficiency of the team and overall testing process.

Requirements

• Software Test Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in Testing who can work independently and ensure quality delivery of software.
• Should have experience with different testing types like Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke etc. Having experience in Automation, Database, API, Performance, Security testing etc. is an added advantage.
• Expert in identifying & documenting Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Plans.
• Possess sound knowledge of defect management cycle, defect logging tools, and logging defects
• Ability to handle multi-tasking and to work in an environment with changing priorities
• Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Team player with the ability to work with a diverse team
• Excellent written communication skills to support collaboration with remote team members
• Should be self-motivated and take ownership of the assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

· Work closely with engineers and business owners throughout the development and testing life cycle, review requirements, specifications and technical design documents

· Drive the creation of test plans and test cases, efficiently execute test cases across all functional and UI areas of our products

· Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities

· Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools

· Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

· Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

· Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs

· Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements

· Monitor debugging process results

Requirements

· 4+ years of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

· Experience in manual and automation testing

· Hands-on experience with cypress

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience

· Understanding of QA processes and concepts including test plan, test case preparation, and testing methodologies, agile a plus

· Demonstrated knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous deployment, and test suite development and maintenance

· Define test plans, test suites, test cases as well as utilize automated tools to optimize the STLC

· Experience in Core Java, JavaScript scripting and user-level test automation

· Hands-on experience with other automated testing tools like Selenium, Appium for android and iOS

Preferred Qualifications

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially excellence in technical communications with peers who may be remote.

· Good knowledge of software QA methodologies, automation tools and processes

· Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases

· Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.

· Experience working in an agile/scrum development process

· Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

• 2-5 years of experience working in a product based startup/company
• Understand the creation and implementation of test cases for immediate test scenarios and long term test case strategies.
• BE/B.Tech from Tier 1 college (Computer Science/Relevant Degree) or great set of experience of working in startup(s)/product based companies.
• Knowledge of automation tools like Selenium suite of Tools (Selenium IDE, Selenium RC, Selenium Web Driver and Selenium Grid)
• Experience in testing both Android & iOS, as well as the website
• Experience in establishing/managing small teams and setting up best practices across engineering units ensuring perfect releases each time.
• Good understanding of the user experience as well as ensuring a seamless product journey for users.
• Should be able to understand requirements and test algorithms accordingly.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
• Should be resourceful, innovative and inventive.
• Creative in approaching the problems following different approaches, mindset, devices, environment, etc.
• Know how to prioritize things on the basis of their impact on the product & the company.
• Empathy towards students to understand the problem or take regular feedback for product improvement.
• Quality of keeping pace while working in dynamic atmosphere
• Great skills to communicate with the team and also articulate them for the internal documentation within the team members.
