Own architecture across web + backend, ship reliably, and establish patterns the team can scale on.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture for Next.js (web) and FastAPI (backend); own code quality, reviews, and release cadence.
• Build and maintain the web app (marketing, auth, dashboard) and a shared TS SDK (@revilo/contracts, @revilo/sdk).
• Integrate Stripe, Maps, analytics; enforce accessibility and performance baselines.
• Define CI/CD (GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker), env/promotions (staging → prod).
• Partner with Mobile and AI engineers on API/tool schemas and developer experience.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years; expert TypeScript, strong Python.
• Next.js (App Router), TanStack Query, shadcn/ui; FastAPI, Postgres, pydantic/SQLModel.
• Auth (OTP/JWT/OAuth), payments, caching, pagination, API versioning.
• Practical CI/CD and observability (logs/metrics/traces).

Nice-to-haves

• OpenAPI typegen (Zod), feature flags, background jobs/queues, Vercel/EAS.

Key Outcomes (ongoing)

• Stable architecture with typed contracts; <2% crash/error on web, p95 API latency in budget, reliable weekly releases.

• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end while hands-on in development as well
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure) and code modularity, extensibility, quality
• Adopt security- first approach in the product development and ensure automated and manual security checks in place across the delivery pipeline
• Lead by example and mentor other developers in the team both technically and professionally
• Support other Senior Product Engineers and contribute to their growth professionally
• Work with  tech leads and the team to ensure shared technology vision and develop state of the art design and architecture for any product development
• Work with other functions such as testing, analysis, infra management, support to ensure faster delivery of products
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with broader team in order to share understanding of product functionality, features, and technology vision
• Look out for technology trends across the industry and apply relevant developments to the products
• Work with the decentralised application business owners to ensure their vision is realised through efficient technology and delivery timelines

Description

• Plan, coordinate, and execute projects to deliver accurate, effective, and timely information solutions that empower readers and solve business problems.
• Design, write, and edit technical content for a variety of audiences, with an emphasis on usability, effectiveness, maintainability, and reusability.
• Understand and use authoring systems, content management tools, databases, social media (wikis and other collaboration systems,microblogs, etc.), and SEO to develop systems that collect, organize, and publish findable, useful information.
• Employ authoring tools to produce professional documentation from a single source for a variety of media and devices including mobile platforms, online help, electronic publications, and PDF.
• Contribute to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
• Represent the team and the Cytel organization on project assignments and when working with clients.
• Lead efforts to assess, research, analyze, organize, design, develop, and maintain information products, processes, and systems.

• Proven experience documenting complex healthcare, biostatistics, or clinical trial mgmt. concepts.
• Experience with LaTeX mark-up and related systems, and with MathML and constructing complex equations for print and online presentation.
• Experience with GxP compliance concepts and processes.
• Knowledge of 'industrial-strength' software product development tools and roles, and experience with software development
• methodologies in a large-company environment.
• Knowledge of basic principles and components of user experience (UX) design.
• Exposure to concepts and tools relating to continuous integration/continuous deployment.
• Understanding of basic coding concepts, and ability to read and edit CSS3, HTML5, and SQL. Experience with R programming is very desirable.

Education

• College degree in biostatistics, software engineering, computer science, technical communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience is desirable.
