About the Role
We're looking for a founding engineer who is an all-rounder, but has particularly exceptional backend engineering skills.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to build state-of-the-art AI agents, and learn what it takes to build an industry-leading multimodal, multi-agent suite.
Responsibilities
You'll wear many hats. Your responsibilities will fall into 3 categories:
Full-Stack Engineering (80% backend, 20% frontend)
- Lead the team in designing scalable architecture to support performant web applications.
- Develop features end-to-end for our web applications (Typescript, nodeJS, python etc).
AI Engineering
- Develop AI agents with a high bar for reliability and performance.
- Build SOTA LLM-powered tools for providers, practices, and patients.
- Architect our data annotation, fine tuning, and RLHF workflows.
Product Management
- Propose, scope, and prioritize new feature ideas. Yes, engineers on our team get to be leaders and propose new features themselves!
- Lead the team in building best-in-class user experiences.
Requirements
You do not need AI experience to apply to this role. While we prefer candidates that have some AI experience, we have hired engineers before that do not have any, but have demonstrated that they are very fast learners.
We prefer candidates who have worked as a founding engineer at an early stage startup (Seed or Preseed) or a Senior Software Engineer at a Series A startup.

About the role
We want to keep our customers for life. To do that, customer success is probably going to be our most important function and we want to treat it like that. So far our customer success function has been founder-led, we have a track record of 200+ 5-star reviews (which we openly brag about (https://apps.shopify.com/bitespeed-fb-messenger-chatbot) and the envious net negative churn (to the extent where some of our customers pay 5-10X of what they started with).
We're now at a point where we’ve scaled 10X in the past year and to do that again next year we want to double down on our existing customers. This role involves owning customer retention and making them true fans of BiteSpeed while also listening to customer feedback to form a pipe of customer insights for our product team.
What you’ll do
- Your core job is to own our customer relationships, make them successful and fans of BiteSpeed.
- Tracking product adoption for our enterprise customers, ensuring they are getting maximum value leading to upsells and expansion revenue.
- Becoming a trusted product advisor for our customers, helping them with all the tricks of the trade to get maximum value from BiteSpeed.
- Managing cross-sells for new products and renewals, owning expansion revenue at an account level.
- Building the playbook for our customer success function to scale for the next stage of growth.

- Sharing quotations to customers through email on real-time basis
- Communicating with customers on over phone & over email.
- Build strong relationships with clients to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
- Meet or exceed Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly sales targets by closing deals and negotiating contracts.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner with collaboration of support team. Prepare and present proposals and demonstrations to clients.
- Prepare and submit sales reports and forecasts to management.
Contribute to the overall product roadmap across all platforms - web, mobile, apps -- after careful consideration of the needs of internal and external parties
Lead development of new product offerings by conducting market research, user surveys, and the like to understand where and how we can satisfy unmet consumer needs.
Manage the product development process from conception through wireframing, design, build, release, analysis, and iteration
Be a critical voice of the user within Impact Guru. Ensure we are doing everything we can to help users save money.
Employ a range of qualitative (user discovery research, focus groups, usability studies, etc.) and quantitative (surveys, analytics, market research, etc) methods to better understand our users' needs.
Conduct A/B tests to understand how we can increase the desired use case(s) of our
products.
Skills And Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience developing web products ideally with a background in technical
product management or web engineering.
Capacity to think strategically, and an ability to understand how product decisions are tied to key business drivers
Strong quantitative capabilities, and experience using analytics platforms to understand product usability (Google Suite, Adobe Analytics, FB Analytics, Omniture, Clevertap, etc.)
Familiarity with APIs, documentation, web system architecture
Mobile-first approach and Focus on creating super-optimized user experience for mobile users
An understanding of what makes for good user experience and beautiful design.
BE/BTech/BA/BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, business, marketing, etc.
MBA is a plus
Good knowledge of MySQL and/or other RDBMS
Proficiency in MS Excel
Proficiency in using wireframing and prototyping tools like Balsamiq, ProtoIO, inVision, etc.
