Role Overview

As a Senior Software Crafter at Incubyte, you are a highly competent engineer who leads complex projects and drives strong technical outcomes at a project or team level. The role focuses on elevating technical quality, guiding teams through high-impact challenges, and strengthening engineering maturity through mentorship and candid feedback. 

At this level, you play a key role in resolving critical incidents, leading large improvement initiatives, and contributing to domain or guild efforts that create positive, lasting change across Incubyte.

From refining requirements to reviewing and refactoring code, you’ll pair with AI to explore solutions faster, catch issues earlier, and raise the quality bar continuously. AI accelerates how we learn, experiment, and deliver — enabling you to focus on solving the right problems with impact while being tech and domain agnostic – true consultants at heart.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver projects of high complexity
• Drive technical quality across projects using sound engineering judgment
• Mentor, sponsor, and provide candid, trend-based feedback to engineers
• Provide strategic feedback that leads to improved project and delivery outcomes
• Resolve critical incidents and complex production issues effectively
• Refactor complex systems pragmatically to improve stability and maintainability
• Design scalable, observable, and maintainable systems
• Support post-incident learnings to strengthen systems and practices
• Inspire others in craft and technical mastery through impactful contributions
• Lead large improvement initiatives that balance quality with pragmatism
• Handle difficult conversations respectfully and constructively
• Lead calmly during crises and create safety for experimentation
• Provide creative, business-aligned technical solutions
• Engage in domain or guild initiatives to drive positive change

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• ⁠6+ years of hands-on software development experience, particularly in ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• A curious and constant learning mindset that looks at tech to an end to solve problems.

• Strong understanding of JS fundamentals and going deep into it coupled with experience in modern frameworks like ReactJs, Vuejs etc.
• The ideal person has worked with product teams in startups and taken features (or entire product modules) to production deployment which was then consumed by real users.
• Proficiency in building a highly scalable frontend.
• Ownership mindset- Taking end to end ownership of frontend initiatives and being part of the core team in driving the overall growth of the organisation in achieving its vision.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new user-facing features
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Collaborate with other team members

You’ll be a good fit if you:

• Have 1+ years of experience developing user facing features
• Have a deep understanding of basic UI/UX/design principles
• Are self-motivated and can solve problems independently
• Experience leveraging web technologies like HTML, CSS, and Javascript(ES6)
• Experience using the latest CSS layout methods such as Flexbox and Grid
• Experience with CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Node.js ecosystem and leveraging Javascript libraries / frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest) and writing unit tests
• Competency in building responsive layouts
• Practical knowledge of performance optimization techniques
• Collaboration in a GitHub repository with many contributors and comfortable with workflows like code reviews, forking, pull requests, etc.
