JOB TITLE: Senior Automation Test Engineer

LOCATION: Remote/Hybrid.

A Senior Automation Test Engineer with 4-5 years of experience is responsible for testing software applications to ensure they meet specified requirements and quality standards.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Build automated scripts for driving application tests.
• Record and maintain source control of automation scripts.
• Participate in review of project requirements to understand test objectives, to provide input on testability of requirements and estimation for the testing activities.
• Provide the testing approach, develop the automation test strategy, testing framework for automation testing projects..
• Design the test case, writing the automation scripts.
• Collaborative with project team to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, and troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to the building of continuous Integration (CI) environment and ongoing Process improvement activities.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss and agree on automation testing approach.
• Do manual testing when the project needed.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:

• ISTQB Certificate or equivalence.
• Experience in working with the CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Git, or equivalent)
• Experience in Automated API Testing, Performance Testing and Security Testing
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong automation QA individual, who can finalize, design and build automation framework from scratch
• Advanced programming skills including automation systems and databases
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, PM tools, and QA

• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Expertise in automation tools like Selenium, Pytest, Behave and Cucumber

Domain: Automation Testing – Selenium Job Purpose • Thought leadership - Consult with the client and setup/guides a team to strategize, design, implement and run automation solution supporting variety of applications • Technical leadership - Identify, evaluate, recommend, and optimize current automated testing processes and tools • Define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework, and approach across project teams • Oversee technological delivery of the recommended automation solution roadmap across project teams • setting up end to end QA processes across Requirement Analysis,Test Strategy/Design and Test reporting • Participate in design and architectural reviews of proposed automation solutions across project teams • Designing & implementing enterprise wide QA strategy for variety of clients including complex applications across multiple tech stacks (involving both functional and automation testing) • Planning, estimating (should be aware of robust models and how to use them) and tracking team’s work • Status reporting: Track and report upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status etc. • Mentors/guides the team on technical knowhow • Adhere to company project standards and guidelines Mandatory Skills & Experience • 10-14 years of overall testing experience and atleast 4+ years of in-depth experience in establishing test automation frameworks, evaluating tools, and implementing continuous testing strategy • Hands on framework development for a Green Field Project • Strong hands on experience in Java/JavaScript programming languages; java collection frameworks • Strong experience on QA Automation tools such as Selenium/Cucumber/Appium/SOAPUIetc. • Strong exposure on UI or API automation, hands on Webservices/Microservices automation • Experience in CI/CD tools, such as Gitlab(preferable) / Jenkins • Experience in Cloud tech preferably AWS • Experience on Cloud Platforms such as Sauce Labs, Perfecto • Functional tools like Selenium (mandate), Webdriver IO, NightWatchJS, etc • Should have basic knowledge of JMeter or any other equivalent Performance testing tool • Sound Knowledge of methodologies and approaches such as Agile, BDD, DevOps etc. • Industry experience on Financial Services is preferred. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience:

• Should have worked extensively in various Testing projects
• Responsible to develop and drive the framework development for the assigned projects
• Should be expert in providing high level of Process Improvement through reusable code (at least 70%)
• High level of technical expertise to handle automation framework development from scratch on various tools
• Expert in Selenium and Java
• Should have good understanding of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) framework in automation testing
• Should have worked on various frameworks like TestNG, Maven, Cucumber

As a Software QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of tests that prove the functional and non-functional requirements of the system.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Designing and developing test automation scripts for a MEAN stack application.
2. Using test automation guidelines.
3. Testing and proving that the software meets major architectural requirements.
4. Proving for scalability and performance of a software.
5. Ensuring the quality of the system as a whole.
6. Supporting the development team and software engineers during the development and testing phase.
7. Build tools and frameworks to aid continuous delivery, deployment and debugging.
8. Prepare defect reports and report test progress.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. At Least 2 years of experience in Automation Testing or similar role for MEAN stack application
2. Experience with Jasmine, Karma, Protractor or similar end-to-end testing tool.
3. Excellent knowledge in testing skills (design test plan and test strategy, writing and executing test cases, opening bugs, verifying bugs etc)
4. A team player, fast learner with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Good to have:

1. Experience or keen interest in aerial robots i.e. drones.
