Job Description — L2/L3 Oracle DBA and Oracle Apps DBA 

Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience​

Support coverage: Dubai customer business hours and on-call support as required 

Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA and Oracle Apps DBA to support 

customer Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments. The role 

involves L2 incident resolution, L3 troubleshooting, performance tuning, patching, 

upgrades, and maintaining database and application availability. 

Key Responsibilities 

Oracle Database Administration 

∙Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle databases across 

production and non-production environments. 

∙Monitor database health, availability, performance, storage, and capacity. 

∙Troubleshoot database incidents, connectivity failures, locking, blocking, and 

resource issues. 

∙Analyse AWR and ASH reports, SQL execution plans, and database wait 

events to resolve performance problems. 

∙Configure and manage RMAN backups; perform recovery and restore 

validation. 

∙Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Data Guard 

environments. 

∙Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and refreshes through 

approved change procedures. 

∙Manage database users, roles, privileges, auditing, and security controls. 

∙Execute disaster recovery drills, Data Guard switchovers, and failovers. 

∙Automate routine administration and monitoring using shell scripts and SQL. 

Oracle Applications DBA 

∙Administer Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 application and database tiers. 

∙Monitor and troubleshoot concurrent managers, concurrent requests, 

Workflow Mailer, application services, and login issues. 

∙Perform EBS online patching using ADOP and manage the associated 

patching lifecycle. 

∙Clone and refresh EBS environments using supported tools, including Rapid 

Clone. 

∙Maintain application configuration using AutoConfig and context files. 

∙Administer EBS-related WebLogic Server, Oracle HTTP Server, and Forms 

services. 

∙Troubleshoot application-tier performance and coordinate with functional 

and development teams. 

∙Support EBS upgrades, technology-stack patches, certificate renewals, and 

integration-related incidents. 

∙Maintain operational procedures for application startup, shutdown, backup, 

recovery, and maintenance. 

L2/L3 Support and Customer Operations 

∙Own incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs. 

∙Provide L2 troubleshooting and escalate complex issues with complete 

diagnostic evidence. 

∙Lead L3 investigation, root-cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions. 

∙Support major incidents, communicate progress, and document recovery 

actions. 

∙Raise and manage Oracle Support service requests. 

∙Prepare change plans, risk assessments, validation steps, and rollback 

procedures. 

∙Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, configuration records, and shift 

handovers. 

∙Coordinate with customer teams and internal infrastructure, storage, 

network, and application teams. 

∙Mentor junior DBAs and identify opportunities to reduce recurring incidents. 

Required Skills and Experience 

∙Hands-on production experience administering Oracle Database, including 

Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, 18c and 19c. 

∙Strong experience supporting Oracle EBS R12.2 as an Apps DBA. 

∙Practical knowledge of RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Data Pump, and 

Role: Oracle DBA – GoldenGate & Database Migration

Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad

Experience: 8–15 years

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Oracle databases in production and non-production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate for replication, CDC, and data synchronization.
• Lead/support database migration, upgrade, and transformation projects.
• Perform database performance tuning, backup/recovery, troubleshooting, and high availability activities.
• Work on migration planning, execution, validation, and post-migration support.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams for end-to-end migration activities.

Must-Have Skills:

• 8–15 years of strong Oracle DBA experience.
• Hands-on expertise in Oracle GoldenGate.
• Proven experience in DB migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux and SQL/PLSQL.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

CTC: Up to ₹24 LPA

Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and support database platforms including Couchbase, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.

Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.

Ensure database availability, reliability, backup, recovery, and security compliance.

Support production incidents, root cause analysis, and ongoing operational improvements.

Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve database-related issues.

Required Skills

5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration.

Strong experience with Couchbase, PostgreSQL, and/or Oracle databases.

Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and SQL development (Complex Queries, Stored Procedures, Scripts)

Experience with database monitoring, backup, recovery, and maintenance activities.

Production Support, Troubleshooting & RCA

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Exposure to database automation and scripting

Primary Database Expertise :

1. One resource should have PostgreSQL as their primary database expertise.

2. One resource should have MySQL as their primary database expertise.

3. One resource should have either PostgreSQL or MySQL as their primary database expertise.

Secondary Database Skills :

- Proficiency in other databases such as MongoDB, MSSQL, ElasticSearch, Oracle, and Redis is a plus.

- Hands-on experience with databases in cloud environments, including GCP, AWS, or Azure, is a must.

- Familiarity with database migrations on GCP, AWS, or Azure cloud platforms is advantageous.

Qualifications and Skills :

- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL databases.

- Strong logical thinking skills to analyze and solve complex database-related issues.

- Excellent communication and articulation abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Proficiency in handling customer calls and addressing their database-related queries and concerns.

- Experience in one of the following primary databases : PostgreSQL, MySQL.

- Knowledge of secondary databases like MongoDB, MSSQL, ElasticSearch, Oracle, and Redis is a plus.

- Prior experience with database administration in GCP, AWS, or Azure cloud environments.

- Familiarity with database migration processes on cloud platforms is a beneficial skill.

Qualifications
