About the Job

This is a full-time role for a Lead Quality Analyst at Spark Eighteen. We are seeking an experienced QA leader who is not just a tech expert but also passionate about building world-class products and ensuring software quality. This role involves leading the quality assurance strategy, overseeing testing for diverse applications, driving process improvements, building scalable testing systems, and mentoring a team of QA engineers. The job location is flexible with preference for the Delhi NCR region.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the overall QA strategy, methodologies, and processes across projects.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering skill development and high performance.
• Oversee and perform hands-on testing, including manual and automated, to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Execute and oversee all levels of testing, including unit, system, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
• Analyze user stories, use cases, and system requirements for feasibility, testability, and comprehensive coverage.
• Champion and enforce best practices in quality assurance, test methodologies, automation, and defect prevention across the engineering organization.
• Develop, execute, and manage comprehensive testing strategies, plans, and schedules to support product releases and project milestones.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define quality standards and align testing efforts with project goals.
• Report on quality metrics, test coverage, and risks to project stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent subjects.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including significant experience in leading QA teams or initiatives.
• Expertise in both manual and automated testing techniques, including architecting and maintaining sophisticated test automation frameworks.
• Deep proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or equivalent, and scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Clickup) and CI/CD integration for testing.
• Excellent ability to analyze user stories, requirements, use cases, and technical specifications for test coverage and feasibility.
• Strong SQL skills for database validation and backend testing.
• Strong knowledge of testing across multiple platforms (e.g., web, mobile, APIs, databases).
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to effectively guide the QA team and work with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skillset

• Experience in Core Java 1.8 and above, Data Structures, OOPS, Multithreading, Algorithms, Collections, System Design, Unix/Linux. • Possess good architectural knowledge and be aware of enterprise application design patterns. • Should be able to analyze, design, develop and test complex, low-latency client-facing applications. • Good development experience with RDBMS. • Good knowledge of multi-threading and high-volume server-side development. • Basic working knowledge of Unix/Linux. • Excellent problem solving and coding skills in Java. • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. • Should be able to express their design ideas and thoughts.

Job Brief-

• Understand product requirements and come up with solution approaches. • Build and enhance large scale domain centric applications. • Deploy high quality deliverables into production adhering to the security, compliance and SDLC guidelines.

• Collaborate with Dev, QA and Data Science teams on environment maintenance, monitoring (ELK, Prometheus or equivalent), deployments and diagnostics
• Administer a hybrid datacenter, including AWS and EC2 cloud assets
• Administer, automate and troubleshoot container based solutions deployed on AWS ECS
• Be able to troubleshoot problems and provide feedback to engineering on issues
• Automate deployment (Ansible, Python), build (Git, Maven. Make, or equivalent) and integration (Jenkins, Nexus) processes
• Learn and administer technologies such as ELK, Hadoop etc.
• A self-starter and enthusiasm to learn and pick up new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Need to have

• Hands-on Experience in Cloud based DevOps
• Experience working in AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFront, ECR, ECS etc)
• Experience with any programming language.
• Experience using Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes
• Experience in Python.
• Should be very comfortable working in Linux/Unix environment.
• Exposure to Shell Scripting.
• Solid troubleshooting skills

Work Location

This role will be based remotely in Hyderabad / Bangalore and requires a frequent travel for short trips to customer site during the working week once the restriction are lifted. 

• Excellent analytical, diagnostic skills, and problem-solving skills

• 5+ years of software development/consulting/support experience, preferably in a number of distinct industries/verticals
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
• Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Go.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
• Should have the strong capability with, minimally, both English and any local language - as necessary

As a core member of the MongoDB Professional Services team, you will

• Contribute to customer implementations at any or all phases of the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, application planning, and design, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release configuration, system testing, production operations, application optimisation, and best practices adoption
• Deliver customer classroom-based training to architect, developer, and operations roles
• Work as part of a wider delivery team comprising fellow consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams
• Cultivate your individual MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor to guide MongoDB and our customers into the future
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap

What you will do?

• Write awesome code
• Your primary focus will be on building our product around our core algorithms. You will collaborate with our Performance Engineering and DevOps teams.
• Identify tactical and long-term product improvements (could be code, script, etc.) so that e6data development is based on frictionless onboarding of customers
• Build our internal Data Platform using e6data
• Adding scalable functionality to the core e6data engine for new features like UDFs, SQL functions, etc

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features spanning across systems in a manner that satisfies requirements of performance, scale, security and robustness
• Contribute to improvement of technology and execution processes in the company

• Serve as a knowledge center on current and emerging technologies, and help train others when required
• Foster a strong technical culture by mentoring other engineers
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies, evaluate new tools

Relevant Experience and Qualifications 

• Demonstrated expertise in system-level design of large scale distributed systems on the Java stack, and experience with web services and service oriented architectures
• Solid experience with Spring (Core/Boot/Security/MVC/Data)
• Have 8 - 12  years of professional experience in software development.
• Extensive experience with modern open source systems including relational / non relational data stores and bigdata processing
• Experience with AWS stack, at least the common datastores and services 
• Experience with containerization technologies and concepts including Docker
• Basic knowledge about security concepts and secure coding
• Excellent analytical, conceptual and communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Experience leading projects developed across continents.

Great to have Experience and Qualifications 

• Knowledge of machine learning concepts, and some hands-on experience implementing machine learnt models
• Experience with infrastructure design for cloud based apps, especially AWS.
• Past experience with information and data security standards (PCI-DSS, ISO27000) very nice to have.
