Backend + Devops Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking motivated DevOps Interns to join our team remotely for a 3-month internship. This internship provides hands-on experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools. While this is an unpaid internship, interns who successfully complete the program will receive a Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Support deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications.
• Automate routine operational tasks using scripts and tools.
• Collaborate with developers to improve build and release processes.
• Help maintain system reliability, security, and performance.
• Document workflows, configurations, and best practices.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
• Exposure to containerization tools like Docker (Kubernetes knowledge is a plus).
• Understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to learn quickly.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup.

What You’ll Own

You’ll be leading and building the backbone of our AI-native drone orchestration platform — used by global industrial giants for autonomous operations.

Expect to:

• Design and manage multi-region, multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker)
• Own infrastructure provisioning through GitOps, Ansible, Helm, and IaC
• Set up observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana) and write custom alerting rules

What We’re Looking For:

You’ve probably done a lot of this already:

• 3–5+ years in DevOps / DevSecOps for high-availability SaaS or product infra
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and cloud-native tooling
• Strong in Linux internals, OS hardening, and network security
• Built and owned CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automated releases
• Written scripts (Python/Bash) that saved your team hours
• Familiar with SOC 2, ISO 27001, threat detection, and compliance work

Bonus if you’ve:

• Candidate should have good Platform experience on Azure with Terraform.
• The devops engineer  needs to help developers, create the Pipelines and K8s Deployment Manifests.
• Good to have experience on migrating data from (AWS) to Azure. 
• To manage/automate infrastructure automatically using Terraforms. Jenkins is the key CI/CD tool which we uses and it will be used to run these Terraforms.
• VMs to be provisioned on Azure Cloud and managed.
• Good hands on experience of Networking on Cloud is required.
• Ability to setup Database on VM as well as managed DB and Proper set up of cloud hosted microservices needs to be done to communicate with the db services.
• Kubernetes, Storage, KeyValult, Networking(load balancing and routing) and VMs are the key infrastructure expertise which are essential. 
• Requirement is  to administer Kubernetes cluster end to end. (Application deployment, managing namespaces, load balancing, policy setup, using blue-green/canary deployment models etc).
• The experience in AWS is desirable 
• Python experience is optional however Power shell is mandatory
• Know-how on the use of GitHub

• 3+ years experience leading a team of DevOps engineers
• 8+ years experience managing DevOps for large engineering teams developing cloud-native software
• Strong in networking concepts
• In-depth knowledge of AWS and cloud architectures/services.
• Experience within the container and container orchestration space (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Passion for CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Jenkins etc.
• Familiarity with config management tools like Ansible Terraform etc
• Proven record of measuring and improving DevOps metrics
• Familiarity with observability tools and experience setting them up
• Passion for building tools and productizing services that empower development teams.
• Excellent knowledge of Linux command-line tools and ability to write bash scripts.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own and manage the entire cloud infrastructure
• Create the entire CI/CD pipeline to build and release
• Explore new technologies and tools and recommend those that best fit the team and organization
• Own and manage the site reliability
• Strong decision-making skills and metric-driven approach
• Mentor and coach other team members

As DevOps Engineer, you are responsible to setup and maintain GIT repository, DevOps tools like Jenkins, UCD, Docker, Kubernetes, Jfrog Artifactory, Cloud monitoring tools, Cloud security.

• Setup, configure, and maintain GIT repos, Jenkins, UCD, etc. for multi hosting cloud environments.
• Architect and maintain the server infrastructure in AWS. Build highly resilient infrastructure following industry best practices.
• Working on Docker images and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop and maintain the automation scripts using Ansible or other available tools.
• Maintain and monitor cloud Kubernetes Clusters and patching when necessary.
• Working on Cloud security tools to keep applications secured.
• Participate in software development lifecycle, specifically infra design, execution, and debugging required to achieve successful implementation of integrated solutions within the portfolio.
• Required Technical and Professional Expertise.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in IT industry.
• Expertise in implementing and managing Devops CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience in DevOps automation tools. And Very well versed with DevOps Frameworks, Agile.
• Working knowledge of scripting using shell, Python, Terraform, Ansible or puppet or chef.
• Experience and good understanding in any of Cloud like AWS, Azure, Google cloud.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is required.
• Proficient in troubleshooting skills with proven abilities in resolving complex technical issues.
• Experience with working with ticketing tools.
• Middleware technologies knowledge or database knowledge is desirable.
• Experience and well versed with Jira tool is a plus.
