Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Candidates with server-side Kotlin development experience are highly preferred. Strong software engineering fundamentals, REST API development expertise, and experience building enterprise-scale applications are essential.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about clean code, testing, scalability, and product/platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and/or Kotlin.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
• Develop high-performance, secure, and reliable enterprise applications.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.
• Implement and maintain automated unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering excellence initiatives.

Required Skills

• 6–8+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Experience with server-side Kotlin (preferred) or willingness to learn and work extensively in Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs.
• Experience building enterprise-grade applications.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
• Strong knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related field is preferred.

• Must have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in PostgreSQL.

• Sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Patterns and Concepts.

• Knowledge & hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Java, and Spring Framework is a must.

• Additional knowledge of JDBC, Apache TomCat Server & relevant open-source technologies is required.

• Must have experience with Bootstrap CSS, jQuery, etc.

• Basic Understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, JDBC (Java Database

Connectivity), and RESTful web services.

• Experience in handling external and embedded databases.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintaining the Database, creating efficient queries, and understanding and improving the current database structure.

• Develop new modules, patches & Updates/upgrades for an existing application (developed in house by the client)

• Analyze user requirements to define business objectives.

• Maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency.

• Identify and resolve any technical issues arising.

• Write well-designed, testable code.

• Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.

• Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural review.

Essential Requirements:

• 5+ years of Software development experience
• Hands on development experience using Java technology stack with focus on architecture and design.

• Should have working experience in tools like Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo etc.
• Should have used testing Frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium

• Experience in Azure and AWS Development and Deployment, Active Directory, Containerization.

• 3+ years of recent hands-on Java development
