Java Developer

We are looking forward to hiring a committed

Java Developer with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of our Engineering team that works on mission-critical applications. You will be managing Java/Java EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

Location = Pune

You are required to:

Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Write well designed, testable & efficient code.

Ensure designs comply with specifications.

Prepare and produce releases of software components.

Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

Our Current Stack

Backend: Spring (JAVA), Laravel (PHP), MySQL, NoSQL, NGINX Plus.

Frontend: Angular 5+ Ngrx/store 5

Infrastructure: Google cloud platform (App engine, CloudSQL, BigQuery, PubSub, Firebase Hosting), Scrapy Cloud, Pusher.io (websockets), Getstream.io, Filestack, Postmark app, AS2 Gateway, Google Cloud Endpoints Framework, MongoDB, Algolia, Memcache

Tools: Gitlab, Postman app, JIRA.

Technical Skills required

B. Tech degree ONLY ( FIRST CLASS GRADE IN FINAL YEAR 60 % OR ABOVE ONLY).

Experience in the same role of almost 1-2 years.

Experience with connecting backend and frontend services.

Exposure to consuming data through different interfaces (Web API's/Socket/ REST/ RESTFUL/ JSON/ XML).

Proficiency in Data Structures and Algorithms.

Understanding of web markup, including HTML 5 CSS.

Understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks.

Ability to write clean, reusable and well documented code.

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Knowledge of API authentication techniques (Token, JWT, OAuth2) - desirable but not mandatory. (Experience with API Design will be a plus)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SOA-based process applications using JBPM.
• Define and model business processes using BPMN 2.0 on a BPM platform.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring best practices in configuration management and code refactoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement solutions to business process needs.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and provide innovative solutions.
• Work on UI development and integrate with backend systems.
• Deploy and maintain applications on servers like WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, or Jetty.
• Stay updated with new technologies and tools to improve development efficiency.

Key Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in building applications.
• Strong development experience with BPM engines, specifically JBPM (mandatory).
• Hands-on experience in SOA-based process applications.
• Proficient in Java, JSP, Servlets, SQL, and frameworks like Struts/Spring/Hibernate/MyBatis.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript languages.
• Familiarity with BPMN 2.0 and querying BPM APIs.
• Experience with application servers like WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, or Jetty.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

Skills Required:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Technical design, implementation, deployment, and support.
• Partner with Business Analysts to review and implement business requirements.
• Perform development and unit testing, working closely with Business.
• Mentors and oversees the development of resources, including reviewing designs and performing code reviews.
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
• Developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high availability and performance
• Should have experience of working on Core Java/J2EE & OOPS concept
• Should be well versed with Spring/Struts & Apache Camel (OSGI Framework)
• Should have a good understanding of Hibernate and Other ORMs
• Should have an understanding of working on Web Service (SOAP/REST) and Maven
• Build tools such as Jenkins
• Caching Technique(Radis, Hazlecast, Aerospike)
• Database Knowledge - Oracle, MySQL

• 3+ years of SDE work experience from Product based companies
• Experience in Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Kafka, Hbase, AWS
  • Experience in Multi threading, distributed systems, Best practices of coding, scaling

Type: Individual contributor with good hands on proficiency. 

Must have

• Strong proficiency in at least one of  Java, Ruby, Python
• Exposure to databases: any of  PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache Cassandra
• Any NoSQL database experience is a plus
• Exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure: EC2 or S3 
• Proficiency with Git
• MUST: Using REST to make API calls. 

Great to have: 

• Experience working with one or more middleware, enterprise bus, queueing frameworks
• Any of Memcached/Redis, Apache Kafka / RabbitMQ / PubSub+ / AmazonMQ

Soft skills:

• Appreciation for clean and well documented code

What will you do at Tradyl:

(Examples for illustration only)

• Build a shipping service module that is called by our website to query shipping rates from India to a destination country. Configure this to so that an Ops person can update shipping costs as and when they change. Own deployment and monitoring of this service. 
• Use Zapier to build a workflow to export a MixPanel report into a Google sheet every day.
• Change our supplier portal (built on bubble.io) to make an API call to our customer facing site, whenever a supplier modifies his profile.
• Write an alert mechanism that identifies catalogues with insufficient information and makes them non discoverable, which can run every day.
• Work with Business Team to design a workflow for product inwarding using Airtable. Write a small app within Airtable so that whenever a product is updated as “shipped” in airtable, it updates the customer facing website.
• Use an open source dashboarding framework to create a quick dashboard to track important business events.
