Must-Have Skills:

• Proven expertise in Backend (if you need to prove yourself, this isn’t the role for you).

• Experience with Trading, market data processing, or low-latency systems.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and real-time processing.

• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

² Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React.

² Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional code.

Qualifications:

² Current SDE 3 designation or equivalent experience in a senior development role.

² 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on frontend technologies, particularly React.

² Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS, with a deep understanding of modern web development practices.

² Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX) and routing solutions.

² Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience with modern build tools (Webpack, Babel).

² Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library) and test-driven development (TDD).

The Opportunity

We're seeking a talented Technical Lead who will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling Joyful’s AI-powered products. In this role, you will lead technical architecture decisions, guide the engineering team, and ensure our platform remains robust, scalable, and delightful to use. You’ll work closely with product, design, and business teams to deliver impactful features while maintaining high code quality and performance.

In addition to technical leadership, you’ll champion Vibe Coding—our approach to writing clean, collaborative, and joyful code that engineers love to create and maintain. This means setting the tone for high-quality, maintainable code while fostering an environment where building software is an energizing, shared experience.

What You'll Do

• Technical Leadership & Architecture:
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance, and secure software solutions for Joyful’s Engage and Listen platforms.
• Define technical roadmaps, architecture patterns, and coding best practices
• Ensure adherence to software development standards and conduct regular code reviews
• Make critical build-versus-buy and technology adoption decisions
• Team Management & Collaboration:
• Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and innovation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, UX, QA) to align technical solutions with business goals
• Drive agile development practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog prioritization
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in development, deployment, and delivery processes

• Lead by example in practicing Vibe Coding—writing code that is clean, well-structured, and joyful to work with

• Hands-On Development:
• Contribute directly to code when needed—particularly for complex modules, integrations, and performance optimization
• Oversee the development of APIs, microservices, and integrations with third-party platforms
• Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and monitoring systems are in place
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies in AI, cloud, and enterprise communication platforms

What You'll Need

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role
• Proven expertise in Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience building scalable, high-availability systems in B2B SaaS or AI-powered products
• Solid knowledge of software design patterns, performance optimization, and security best practices
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (Angular, React, or similar) is a plus
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

We are re-imagining how Bharat’s neighbourhood retail, the unorganized Kirana stores of today will get transformed into organized convenience retail chains over the next decade - we are driving this change.

SuperK is a well-funded early-stage startup that offers a full-stack solution to empower small format retail stores in Tier 2 and below towns. SuperK is rebranding existing small format retail stores and providing them with the benefits of procurement, tech systems, intelligence, and marketing at scale to create a chain of mini supermarkets. Some parallels can be drawn to how Oyo has transformed the small hotel industry, Medplus & Apollo have changed pharma retail and BigC & others have changed offline mobile buying.

What you will be doing

• Working closely with the Engineering lead to contribute to deciding the backend as well as frontend system architecture for products used by consumers, retailers, and other stakeholders.
• Stay informed about the product strategy; evaluate the feasibility of solutions proposed by PMs, estimate development effort, and help in planning the roadmap and individual features.
• Building the blocks of the entire system across multiple products on your own from the ground up with the freedom to try new things.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other developers to meet the timelines.

What we would like to see in you

• 2-4 years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer who has owned the entire stack of a product or a major module.

• Strong computer science fundamentals in OOPs, DS algorithm design and time complexity analysis.
