We are looking to recruit an expert for backend software development at Webnyay. We are an enterprise SaaS startup catering to India and international markets. We are now growing fast and need a rockstar senior software developer who is an expert in Python/Django and GCP.

What we are looking for:

• At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 4 years of experience with Python & Django.
• Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (tokenization, stopword removal, lemmatization, embeddings, etc.)
• Experience in computer vision fundamentals, particularly object detection concepts and architectures (e.g., YOLO, Faster R-CNN)
• Experience in search and retrieval systems and related concepts like ranking models, vector search, or semantic search techniques
• Experience with multiple databases (relational and non-relational).
• Experience with hosting on GCP and other cloud services.
• Familiar with continuous integration and other automation.
• Focus on code quality and writing scalable code.
• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies depending on business requirements.
• Prior startup experience will be a plus!

Some of your responsibilities would include:

• Work closely in a highly AGILE environment with a team of engineers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation of technical design and solution.
• Build products/features that are highly scalable, secure, highly available, high performing and cost-effective.
• Help team in debugging.
• Perform code reviews.
• Understand the full feature set/ implementation and architecture of the applications.
• Analyze business goals and product requirements and contribute to application architecture design, development and delivery.
• Provide technical expertise for every phase of the project lifecycle; from concept development to solution design, implementation, optimization and support.
• Act as an Interface with business teams to understand and create technical specifications for workable solutions within the project.
• Explore and work with LLM APIs and Generative AI.
• Make performance-related recommendations, identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks (hardware, software, configuration); drive performance tuning, re-design and re-factoring.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle, which includes research, new development, modification, security, reuse, re-engineering and maintenance of common component libraries.
• Participate in product definition and feature prioritization.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across business verticals.

What You Will Do

• Acquisition strategy: Identify and strategise the next set of cohorts and channels that we need to unlock. This is going to set the roadmap of the pod and effectively unlock new opportunities for activation improvements
• Drive Initiatives: Liaise with internal team members and also with Product, Analytics, Creatives, etc., to drive solutions, scale-up, and achieve efficiency improvement in performance campaigns
• Performance Management: Identify issues which impact CPI and incoming user quality and RCA
• Strong understanding of data - we are a data driven organization, and measure outcomes closely through internal metrics. You will be working closely with the Analytics team across problem discovery, solutioning, execution and measurement

What Will You Need

• Bachelor's / MBA degree in any discipline from a top-tier college – MBA is preferable
• 5+ years of experience in performance marketing strategy / Growth in a high-growth startup, or strategy consulting firm
• Structured problem-solving with good communication skills
• Data-driven with good Excel skills. Proven ability to take up high ownership
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (within the company)
• Enthusiastic about learning new skills and solving challenging problems

6-9 years’ work experience performing relevant engineering job functions preferably in the eCommerce space. ● 6+ years of Salesforce development experience with mastery of Apex programming, JavaScript, Visualforce, LWC, SOQL, SOSL, and Salesforce APIs. ● Proficient in the Salesforce platform, with substantial experience across a variety of Salesforce products, including OMS, OCI, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, and Mulesoft. ● Understanding of data and system integration tools, methods and platforms ● Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Java/Kotlin, Spring, Kafka, SQL, GitHub, CI/CD, Eclipse IDEs, and JavaScript/HTML/CSS is a plus. ● Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders. ● Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. ● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred.

What You'll Do: Your Mission & Core Mandate

As our lead AI Orchestrator, you will be a hands-on-keyboard pioneer, responsible for building the systems and workflows that fuse human ingenuity with agentic AI power.

• Architect Agentic Workflows: You will design, implement, and govern the end-to-end "human-in-the-loop" development lifecycle. This means architecting how we use Gemini CLI at every stage, from turning architectural diagrams into code to establishing multi-agent TDD (Test-Driven Development) patterns.
• AI-Generated Code Reviewer: Provide hands-on architectural stewardship. You will conduct rigorous code reviews of AI-generated code, ensuring it meets our exacting standards for scalability, performance, and security.
• Mentor a New Class of Engineer: You will be the catalyst for transforming future hires from traditional coders into elite AI Orchestrators. You will establish the best practices, training, and "critical collaboration" culture required to master this new paradigm.

Foundational Engineering Excellence:

• Real world experience and/or BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a Staff, Principal, or Tech Lead capacity or similar.
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one of: Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Deep, hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture (GCP, AWS, Azure), distributed systems, and MLOps e.g. (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform).

Essential Hands-On Mastery:

• You live in the terminal. You have daily, expert-level, hands-on experience using agentic CLI tools (Gemini CLI, Claude Code) to perform complex, multi-day engineering tasks.

• You are a master of prompts and workflows. You have designed and implemented novel, multi-agent workflows and can architect "mega-prompts" or custom slash commands that codify sophisticated business logic for an AI to execute.
• You understand AI governance. You have implemented formal, risk-based strategies for when to allow autonomous agent actions versus when to require manual sign-off, balancing velocity with safety.
