Frontend Developer

We are inspiring the next generation of young innovators and entrepreneurs in India. We're an education startup co-founded by a Computer Science grad from MIT/Harvard and the former CEO of Apple India. We started out as code school, offering creative tech boot-camps on topics like Drone Programming, Android App Development, Game Programming, Full-Stack Web Development to k-12 students across the nation, and now we're building web and mobile products to deliver powerful learning experiences to students online, at scale.

Job Description

We are looking for a Front End developer who is excellent with JavaScript (React.js + Redux). Some proficiency with Node.js preferred as you’ll be hooking up your front-ends to APIs and occasionally writing your own.

Your primary focus will be to develop the UI/UX for highly interactive / social / multiplayer learning platform, across the Student Product, Parent Product, Teacher Product, Virtual Classroom, and more.

Responsibilities

• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality React code
• Styling re-usable components with pixel perfection and mobile responsiveness
• Structuring state and information flow across your front-end app using Redux
• Optimizing your code for SEO and maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers

Skills / Required Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with React.js
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Redux
• Bonus: past experience with Socket.io and WebRTC
• Writing and consuming REST APIs with Node.js 
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools

Should have Passion to learn and adapt new technologies, understanding,

solving/troubleshooting issues and risks, able to make informed decisions and ability to

lead the projects.

Your Qualifications

• 2-5 Years’ Experience with functional programming
• Experience with functional programming using Scala with Spark framework.
• Strong understanding of Object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms
• Good experience in any of the cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) etc.,
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, relational databases and NoSql storage solutions
• Desire to learn new technologies and languages
• Participation in software design, development, and code reviews
• High level of proficiency with Computer Science/Software Engineering knowledge and contribution to the technical skills growth of other team members

Your Responsibility

• Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements
• Proactively identify and communicate potential issues and concerns and recommend/implement alternative solutions as appropriate.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization of existing solution

• 2 – 5 years of experience selling a SaaS solution, ideally selling B2B Enterprise Solutions.
• A classic enterprise solution seller with hands-on experience in technology.
• A strong passion for overachieving enterprise sales numbers in a hunting profile.
• Having a sterling career so far already in achieving sales targets and wants to look at fast growth in a sales career and therefore being totally performance-driven.
• On-the-foot thinker and ability to build long-lasting professional relationships.
• You are interested in selling technology related to AI, SAAS solutions, and/or predictive analytics.
• Would be an Individual contributor but aiming to become a Sales Leader.
• Would already have working relationships across enterprise leaders in HR / IT / PMO teams
• Hunter - appetite for opening and closing new accounts.
• Track record of outstanding sales performance including exceeding quotas, winning sales awards, etc.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles.
• Driven, self-motivated, proactive, and excited about being at a start-up
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing environment.
• Partner with Customer Success to onboard the right customers and drive adoption/engagement in the first year.
• Strong executive presence.
• Experience selling to HR and TA leads would be an added advantage.
• Experience selling to the IT and ITES/BPO sector will be an added advantage.
• Experience selling HR tech solutions will be an added advantage

• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end while hands-on in development as well
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure) and code modularity, extensibility, quality
• Adopt security- first approach in the product development and ensure automated and manual security checks in place across the delivery pipeline
• Lead by example and mentor other developers in the team both technically and professionally
• Support other Senior Product Engineers and contribute to their growth professionally
• Work with  tech leads and the team to ensure shared technology vision and develop state of the art design and architecture for any product development
• Work with other functions such as testing, analysis, infra management, support to ensure faster delivery of products
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with broader team in order to share understanding of product functionality, features, and technology vision
• Look out for technology trends across the industry and apply relevant developments to the products
• Work with the decentralised application business owners to ensure their vision is realised through efficient technology and delivery timelines
• Work in a dynamic, collaborative, transparent, non-hierarchical, and ego-free culture where your talent is valued over a role title 
• Develop personally and professional outside of the confinement of a traditional career path by focusing on what you’re passionate about rather than a predetermined one-size-fits-all plan 

• Must have extensive hands on experiencing designing and building mobile applications on Android
• Must have excellent programming, debugging and scripting skills with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles
• Must have ability to learn/iterate quickly in a rapidly changing technical stack with nascent codebase and developer tools
• Must possess a passion for delivery-focused development, and overcoming challenges through teamwork and self-motivation
• Ability to work in a variety of client settings and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 
• Ability to communicate technical vision and direction of the product and make significant impacts to technology and design choices

• Architectural design while leading and inspiring software development teams 
• Leading development of large, custom-built object-oriented applications

• Managing systems in production and understands release process, monitoring, and debugging
• Working and developing in agile environment working with XP/Scrum development practices

• Expertise in end to end Android development and release management
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java,  NodeJS, Go, JavaScript, Python programming stacks, and passion for software engineering and craftsman-like coding prowess 
• Knowledge of software practices like refactoring, clean code, domain driven design, Encapsulation etc 
• Hands on experience managing databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis
• Exposure to event driven systems and event streaming engines like Kafka
• Good knowledge of DevOps tooling like docker, kubernetes, ansible/chef, AWS.
• Solid OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge and enterprise integration

•  Candidate must haveexpereince into Php with laravel.
• Good communication skills.
