Software Engineer III - Product Deployment

We are looking for highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced agile environment. You will be part of our scrum teams and contribute to the development of Java-based applications as well as participate to our DevOps community of practice.

Technically, you are proficient with the principles behind CI/CD, immutable infrastructure, Git Ops, Infra as Code and a best-in-class toolchain for a highly productive Developer Experience in a cloud first environment.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about repeatable process and automation, and understand the challenging decisions involved in creating scale, resilience, security and availability. The role will require co-ordination with Software Development and DevOps, SRE, Architecture.

Responsibilities:

·      Create deployment automation plans for high-throughput and low response time applications.

·      Build automation for deployments on-prem and in the cloud

·      Implement Continuous Integration on Jenkins

·      Build out application deployment containers to AWS (Amazon Web Services) EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Services) Red Hat Openshift

·      Coordinate with software engineering, infrastructure, network teams and other DevOps engineers

·      Build tools for testing, automation and monitoring that can improve predictability and reliability of deployments

Qualifications:

·      Master’s or bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering

·      4+ years of experience working in Infrastructure roles

·      2+ years of experience with DevOps

·      Strong experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm)

·      Fluency in Python or other programming or scripting language

·      Strong background in networking and server management on RHT Linux

·      Strong knowledge of the DevOps tool chain on the AWS Linux platform: Jenkins, Groovy, Nexus OSS, python/ java, ansible, code pipeline, confluence, git, cloud formation, etc. Strong knowledge on Infrastructure as a code framework such as Terraform and Ansible

·      Experience using APM tools like Splunk, Dynatrace

·      Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber or Server Spec

·      Experience with automated load testing tools (JMeter)

·      Experience deploying automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS

·      Operationally savvy, experience with monitoring, alerting, and analyzing system metrics to identify problems and understand system behavior

Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure, with a focus on scalability, security, and cost optimization.

- Collaborate with development teams to streamline the deployment process, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of software applications.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

- Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles to create and manage infrastructure deployments using Terraform, ARM templates, or similar tools.

- Manage and monitor containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or other container orchestration platforms.

- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for cloud-based infrastructure and applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues, working closely with development and operations teams.

- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud infrastructure and applications.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and automation.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Minimum of four years of proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and deployment automation.

- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Security, and Azure Monitor.

- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.

- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Docker Swarm.

- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with relevant tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

- Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive and analytical mindset.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.

We are looking for very hands-on DevOps engineers with 3 to 6 years of experience. The person will be part of a team that is responsible for designing & implementing automation from scratch for medium to large scale cloud infrastructure and providing 24x7 services to our North American / European customers. This also includes ensuring ~100% uptime for almost 50+ internal sites. The person is expected to deliver with both high speed and high quality as well as work for 40 hours per week (~6.5 hours per day, 6 days per week) in shifts that will rotate every month.

This person MUST have:

• B.E Computer Science or equivalent

• 2+ Years of hands-on experience troubleshooting/setting up of the Linux environment, who can write shell scripts for any given requirement.

• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring AWS or GCP services from SCRATCH and maintaining them.

• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring Kubernetes & EKS and ensuring high availability of container orchestration.

• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up CICD from SCRATCH in Jenkins & Gitlab.

• Experience configuring/maintaining one monitoring tool.

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

• Candidates with certifications - AWS, GCP, CKA, etc will be preferred

• Hands-on experience with databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, RDS).

Experience:

• Min 3 years of experience as DevOps automation engineer buildingg, running, and maintaining production sites.

• Not looking for candidates who have experience only as L1/L2 or Build & Deploy.

Timings:

• The person is expected to deliver with both high speed and high quality as well as work for 40 hours per week (~6.5 hours per day, 6 days per week) in shifts that will rotate every month.

Must Have Skills

• AWS Solutions Architect and/or DevOps certification, Professional preferred
• BS level technical degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
• Hands-on technical expertise on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to include but not limited to EC2, VPC, IAM, Security groups, ELB/NLB/ALB, Internet gateway, S3, EBS and EFS.
• Experience in migration-deployment of applications to Cloud, re-engineering of application for cloud, setting up OS and app environments in virtualized cloud
• DevOps automation, CI/CD, infrastructure/services provisioning, application deployment and configuration
• DevOps toolsets to include Ansible, Jenkins and XLdeploy, XLrelease
• Deploy and configuration of Java/Wildfly, Springboot, JavaScript/Node.js and Ruby applications and middleware
• Scripting in Shell (bash) and Extensive Python
• Agile software development

• Linux (RHEL) administration/engineering

Experience:

• Deploying, configuring, and supporting large scale monolithic and microservices based SaaS applications
• Working as both an infrastructure and application migration specialist

• Implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment 
• Work with Technology leadership to understand business goals and requirements
