Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer for Substation Projects responsible for ensuring quality assurance and quality control activities during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical substations. The candidate should have strong knowledge of inspection procedures, quality standards, documentation, and site execution practices related to AIS/GIS substations and associated electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for substation projects
• Review project specifications, drawings, method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and quality procedures
• Conduct inspections for:
o Substation equipment installation
o Cable laying and termination
o Earthing and lightning protection systems
o Control & relay panels
o Structures and electrical assemblies
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and applicable IEC/IS standards
• Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, third-party agencies, and internal teams
• Monitor material receiving inspections and maintain material traceability records
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including:
o Inspection reports
o NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
o Quality checklists
o Test records
o Final handover dossiers
• Verify calibration status of measuring and testing instruments
• Ensure proper implementation of approved procedures and work methods at site
• Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits
• Track quality issues and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented
• Support testing and commissioning teams from QA/QC compliance perspective
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout project execution
Required Skills & Technical Competencies
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes in electrical substation projects
