Backend Engineer - Java

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in backend engineering to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in GoLang, a solid understanding of SQL databases, and exposure to or interest in High Performance Computing (HPC) concepts. You will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining backend services that are scalable, efficient, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, build, and maintain backend services and microservices using GoLang
• Design and optimize database schemas and write efficient SQL queries for relational databases
• Work on high-performance applications by optimizing code, memory usage, and execution speed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, QA, and product
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and follow best engineering practices
• Contribute to improving system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, tools, and frameworks

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• 1–5 years of experience in backend development
• Strong hands-on experience with GoLang (Golang)
• Good understanding of SQL and relational database design
• Exposure to or understanding of HPC concepts such as concurrency, parallelism, distributed processing, or performance optimization
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservice architectures
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

Good to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Software Engineering
  • Should have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing and deploying applications on Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Python, Node or Go for large scale applications
  • Deep knowledge of one of the programming languages they have experience in
  • Proficient in OOP and Design Patterns, experience with functional programming would be a plus
  • Data modelling experience in Relational Databases
  • Ability to design and implement low latency RESTful services
• Product Delivery
  • Ability to scope, review and refine user stories for technical completeness and to alleviate dependency
  • Well versed in working with agile methodologies which includes phases such as design, development, code review, testing and release management
  • Ability to have worked in a CI/CD environment, with hands on experience with Git or any similar source code management tools
• Product Maintenance

• Experience troubleshooting server performance issues such as memory tuning, GC tuning, resource leaks
• Continuously refactor applications to ensure high quality design

I need a Java Developer who has Java development experience with minimum

-  6 months of experience in Groovy and Grails both.(must)

• 6 + years of Hands-on development and delivery experience with Java, Scala, and the likes

• Great OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge
• Experience working with Agile, TDD, Lean, and/or Continuous Delivery approaches and best practices, such as Extreme Programming (XP)
• Enthusiastic to work collaboratively with people and sharing your ideas to solve real business problems

• Interest in our tech stack (Java or Scala, SQL Databases, NoSQL, Microservices, and AWS)
• Strong computer science fundamentals with data structures, algorithms, various programming languages, distributed systems, etc. 
• Understanding of engineering best practices—you constantly seek to improve engineering standards, tooling and processes
• Ability to write “good code” - easily understandable, secure and testable! 
• Comfortable helping drive technical decisions within our Engineering team
• Experience building applications at scale

• 4 to 6 years plus experience in having implemented Hybris Commerce Solution.
• Working experience in Java, Spring, and Hibernate is a must
• Working experience of customizing Hybris Accelerators
• Proficient in Hybris core concepts and commerce concepts including, but not limited to, Hybris PCM Data Modeling, Endeca/SOLR, WCMS/ Customer Experience Manager, Cockpits, Cron jobs, internationalization, personalization, security concepts, and REST.
• Proficient in the catalog, order management, promotions, B2B commerce.
• Should have experience in handling multi/Omni-channel architecture through related Hybris Channel management modules.
• Good understanding of integration patterns/methodologies of Hybris with Organic SEO Search, Faceted Search, and Commerce Search.
• Should have exposure on the continuous integration build tools and code quality tools
• Working experience of Integration with external services such as payment gateways, Order management solution using Web services such as REST and SOAP
• Working experience of SOLR Search Engine is a plus
