Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of various infrastructure and application environments. The candidate must have a proficient understanding of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud services, with experience in AWS services like EKS, EC2, ECS, EBS, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, ALB, etc., in a highly available and scalable production environment. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, security, user management, reporting, migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, and infrastructure restoration, among other tasks. They will also work with application teams on infrastructure design and issues, and architect solutions to optimally meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot various infrastructure and application environments
• Work with AWS services like EC2, ECS, EBS, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, ALB, etc., in a highly available and scalable production environment
• Monitor, automate, troubleshoot, secure, maintain users, and report on infrastructure and applications
• Collaborate with application teams on infrastructure design and issues
• Architect solutions that optimally meet business needs
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes
• Disaster recovery and infrastructure restoration
• Restore/Recovery operations from backups
• Automate routine tasks
• Execute company initiatives in the infrastructure space
• Expertise with observability tools like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana , Loki

Qualifications:

• Proficient understanding of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and various cloud services
• Experience with AWS services like EC2, ECS, EBS, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, ALB, etc.
• Experience in monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, security, user management, reporting, migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, and infrastructure restoration
• Experience in architecting solutions that optimally meet business needs
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of system concepts like high availability, scalability, and redundancy
• Ability to work with application teams on infrastructure design and issues
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with automation of routine tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a related role
• Experience with observability tools like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana

Working Conditions:

The DevOps Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various application teams, stakeholders, and management. They will work both independently and in teams, and they may need to work extended hours or be on call to handle infrastructure emergencies.

Note: This is a remote role. The team member is expected to be in the Bangalore office for one week each quarter.

Requirements:

• Previously help a DevOps Engineer or System Engineer role

• 4+ years of production Linux system admin experience in high traffic environment

• 1+ years of experience with Amazon AWS and related services (instances, ELB,

   EBS, S3, etc.) and abstractions on top of AWS.

• Strong understanding of network fundamentals, IP and related services (DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.) and    

   security concerns.

• Experience in running Docker and Kubernetes clusters in production.

• Love automating mundane tasks and make developers life easy

• Must be able to code in, at a minimum, Python (or Ruby) and Bash.

• Non-trivial production experience with Saltstack and/or Puppet, Composer,Jenkins, GIT

• Agile software development best practices - continuous integration, releases,branches, etc.

• Experience with modern monitoring tools; capacity planning.

• Some experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Node.js, and PHP is a plus.

• Self-motivated, fast learner, detail-oriented, team player with a sense of humor

Experience in managing CI/CD using Jenkins.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitOps practices. 
• Kubernetes Management: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and scalability of applications. 
• Cloud Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others. 
• Infrastructure as Code: Implement and manage infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. 
• Monitoring and Logging: Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of the infrastructure.

• Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a DevOps role. 
• AWS: In-depth knowledge of AWS services and solutions. 
• CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar. 
• GitOps Expertise: Proficient in GitOps methodologies and tools. 
• Kubernetes: Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration. 
• Scripting and Automation: Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar. 
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.

4. Experience working with, and preferably designing, a system compliant to any security framework (PCI DSS, ISO 27000, HIPPA, SOC 2, ...)
