AWS Architect - Database Technologies Specialist

Role Overview :

We’re looking for Product Engineers who are passionate about building scalable backend systems in the FinTech & payments domain. If you enjoy working on complex challenges, contributing to open-source projects, and driving impactful innovations, this role is for you!

What You’ll Do :

• Develop scalable APIs and backend services.
• Design and implement core payment systems.
• Take end-to-end ownership of product development from zero to one.
• Work on database design, query optimization, and system performance.
• Experiment with new technologies and automation tools.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to drive innovation.

What We’re Looking For :

• 3+ Years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency in any backend programming language (Ruby on Rails experience is a plus but not mandatory).
• Experience in building APIs and working with relational databases.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Open-source contributions (minimum 50 stars on GitHub preferred).
• Experience in building and delivering 0 to 1 products.
• Passion for FinTech & payment systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of payment protocols and financial regulations (preferred but not mandatory)

Main Technical Skills :

• Backend : Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL
• Infrastructure : GCP, AWS, Terraform (fully automated infrastructure)
• Security : Zero-trust security protocol managed via Teleport

• Ability to work in an existing codebase and collaborate with a diverse team
• Experience in building enterprise-scale backend REST APIs with frameworks such as Nest.js & Express.js using an API-first paradigm
• Intimate knowledge of crafting highly performant database queries
• Hands-on experience implementing relational database structures, including tables, indexes, views, etc.
• A mindset towards building systems for the cloud and DevOps fundamentals
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services is good to have. If not then willingness to learn should be there.
• Focus towards building security, performance, and scalability into services from the beginning
• Experience with debugging code and troubleshooting technical issues in order to craft appropriate solutions
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript
• Experience in creating and deploying cloud-based web applications.
• Good at Jade, EJS,
• Good at CSS preprocessors (such as Stylus, Less, etc depending on your technology stack)
• Front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience with Node.js using web server-based frameworks such as Express.
• PLUS - experience with React.JS, React Native, vue.js javascript framework * Experience with Amazon Web Services
• PLUS - experience with Jenkins or other Continuous Integration tools

Skills:

 Understanding of Edu-Tech Industry and ERP Sales and Business Development

 Ideation & implementation of new concepts

 Key Account Handling Capability (Schools, College, Institutions).

 Driving & Managing Client Interaction & Educational ERP sales & marketing.

 Analyse market trends and provide insights for building future strategy.

 Identify Up-selling/Cross-selling business opportunities

 Ideation & implementation of new concepts for generating additional revenue

 Team handling, Co-ordination with the Area partners, Institutions, Channel Partners,

Product, Operations, Finance & Tech Teams.

 Revenue generation from educational institutions

 Implementation of Academic Management Systems (AMS) Services.

 Ensuring the set targets are being met.
