Position Summary
The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring quality standards across the entire rice value chain, including procurement, processing, storage, polishing, sorting, packing, and dispatch. The role involves managing quality systems, supervising laboratory testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to deliver consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Assurance
- Implement and monitor quality standards for raw, semi-processed, and finished rice
- Conduct quality checks for grain length, moisture, purity, color, foreign matter, broken percentage, and aroma
- Oversee grading, sorting, polishing, and packing operations
- Approve final batches before dispatch as per contract and market requirements
Laboratory & Testing Management
- Supervise laboratory testing and quality analysis
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment
- Maintain accurate test documentation and reports
Supplier & Procurement Coordination
- Inspect incoming rice from suppliers and traders
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers based on quality parameters
- Coordinate with procurement to reject substandard material and improve sourcing quality
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Drive continuous improvement in milling, grading, and sorting processes
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, BRC, and export quality standards
- Lead and support internal and external quality audits
- Handle customer complaints and conduct root cause analysis
Team Leadership & Reporting
- Train production, sorting line, and lab teams on quality standards
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 7–12 years of experience in rice mill operations or the rice export industry
- Strong knowledge of Basmati and Non-Basmati rice grades and processing standards
- Hands-on experience with color sorters, polishers, and graders (preferred)
- Understanding of milling parameters, moisture control, and storage practices

Skills & Responsibilities
- Remotely manage host of daily order pick-up schedules, ensuring 100% on-time delivery
- Own a robust real-time connect over information and documents with our service partner for smooth flow of daily collections and process adherence
- Ensure top customer experience; attend to and manage escalations, ensure proper RCA and corrective action in place
- Own and drive key metrics of product rating, on-time delivery and customer contact ratio; analyse and present weekly and monthly trends in operation forum
- Oversee monthly reconciliation of service data with vendor, and ensure internal & external reporting are finished on time
- Present insights and propose new ideas on business progress based on ops metrics, and industry trends
- Diligent real-time follow ups on sample collections and quick thinking on the feet to effectively handle customer ticket resolutions will be 2 critical expectations
- Relevant work-experience in sample collection monitoring, lab/order handling will be helpful
