About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Data Engineer to take full ownership of our database architecture and operations. This is a WFO role that blends high-level database development, database administration (DBA), and customer consultation.

You won't just be writing code in the background; you will be the primary voice for data best practices, helping our customers understand why we build things the way we do.

What You Will Do

• Database Development: Design, develop, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
• Database Management: Oversee database health, performance tuning, security, and backup strategies to ensure maximum uptime.
• Project Support: Act as the database subject matter expert (SME) for cross-functional project teams, ensuring data integrity and scalability in every release.
• Customer Consultation: Work directly with customers to understand their data needs. You will educate them on the "right way" to approach database solutions, guiding them away from quick fixes and toward long-term stability.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify bottlenecks and resolve database issues before they impact the business.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (Development & Administration) or Postgres Or MySQL.
• Deep expertise in T-SQL and Schema design.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of database security and maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).

Products such as gas flow measurement and control products, mass flow meter, mass flow controllers, temperature controllers, modulating motors, pressure switches,limit switches, photoelectric sensors, proximity sensors, Flame Detectors-Burner Controllers Assembly.

Customer Segment :- Furnace & Oven Manufacturer, Machine Manufacturer, Automotive, Heat Treatment.

Sales Experience: - 6 to 10 Years

Desired Qualification: - Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma Degree holder.

Skills Required: - Relevant Product Knowledge, Technical Presentation Skills, Product Demonstrations, Proven experience in technical sales & product demonstration roles, Good Verbal Communication.

Reporting to: - Reporting to Control Product Department’s head from Advance Automation Business Unit.

Areas of Responsibility: -

·        Responsible for explaining our products’ technical functionalities and benefits to potential customers.

·        Responsible for working closely with the sales product team & helping to drive product adoption & sales success.

·        Handle technical questions during demonstrations.

·        Handle technical troubleshooting issues.

·        To Keep the management informed about the product promotional activities.

·        Working with various sales channels - OEMs, End Users, distributors etc. for Product adoption against other manufacturers.

Requirements:

·         To be part of Digital Manufacturing and Industrie 4.0 projects across Saint Gobain group of companies

·         Design and develop AI//ML models to be deployed across SG factories

·         Knowledge on Hadoop, Apache Spark, MapReduce, Scala, Python programming, SQL and NoSQL databases is required

·         Should be strong in statistics, data analysis, data modelling, machine learning techniques and Neural Networks

·         Prior experience in developing AI and ML models is required

·         Experience with data from the Manufacturing Industry would be a plus

Working Conditions: 

• Sales engineers will drive the sales growth from their respective zones (it may be Bangalore/Chennai). 
• Work timings are from 9:30 AM to 07: 30 PM with suitable time offs for lunch and snacks. (Monday to Friday) 
• Travelling to prospective clients may be required for demo/trial as and when required.

* Experience in developing RESTful/GraphQL APIs and microservices based applications
