The Web 3 & Blockchain Innovation Lab plays a pivotal role in leading the lab strategic vision and
operational excellence, fostering a culture of innovation and learning by doing among students.
This individual is responsible for setting the lab strategic direction, managing a team of stream
leaders, and ensuring the lab success in bridging the gap between academia and industry. As a
thought leader and brand ambassador, the Head of the lab promotes the lab focus areas both
internally and externally, embodying the qualities of leadership and innovation that inspire
students and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
* Vision and Strategy:
* Develop and communicate a clear vision for the Innovation Labs, aligning with
* the institution strategic objectives.
* Set strategic goals for the lab, including defining key areas of focus, innovation
strategies, and research priorities.
* Ensure the lab activities contribute to the broader academic and research
missions of the institution.
Innovation Lab - Industry Interface:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, facilitating collaborations that enhance the lab's research and innovation projects.
* Serve as a key liaison between the lab and academic departments, promoting interdisciplinary industry relevant research and learning opportunities.
* Lead initiatives to secure funding, sponsorship, and partnerships that support the lab's activities and growth.
* Brand Ambassador and Thought Leadership:
* Act as a brand ambassador and thought leader, representing the Innovation Labs at conferences, seminars, and public forums.
* Promote the lab's achievements and projects through various channels, enhancing its reputation and visibility.
* Foster a network of alumni, industry leaders, and academic peers to support and engage with the lab's work.
Mentorship and Role Modeling:
* Serve as a mentor and role model for students and mentors, inspiring them to pursue innovation and excellence.

Skills and Qualifications :
* Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration) or equivalent experience in innovation management.
* Proven leadership experience in managing research or innovation labs, particularly in an academic or similar setting.
* Deep technical expertise in multiple blockchain platforms, smart contracts, DeFi & dApps, Web 3 libraries/frameworks and cryptography. Should be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the benefits decentralization.
