Sr. Python Developer

Job Summary:

Deqode is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Python + AWS Developer to join our growing technology team. This role demands hands-on experience in backend development, cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization, automation, and client communication. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions in a client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services and APIs using Python.
• Build and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Automate deployments and infrastructure with Terraform and Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
• Implement containerized environments using Docker and manage orchestration via Kubernetes.
• Write automation and scripting solutions in Bash/Shell to streamline operations.
• Work with relational databases like MySQL and SQL, including query optimization.
• Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability across environments.

Required Skills:

• 3.5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development.
• Strong expertise in AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Good understanding of Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Proficient with Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Strong command of SQL/MySQL and scripting with Bash/Shell.
• Experience working with external clients or in client-facing roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or DevOps Engineer).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities of a Senior Software Engineer (Backend):

• You will be a guide in the entire application lifecycle including research, design, development, testing (dev owns quality), along with continuous deployment and delivery
• Lead design with a major focus on best user experience, performance, scalability and future expansion
• You will act as a mentor for less-experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and leadership skills to bring in continuous improvements and implement best practices.
• You will apply the latest technology thinking from our tech radar, adopt best design practices to solve complex problems and ensure our product is the best in usability.
• You will work directly with the CEO and the cross functional product teams, align on the needs of the products and operations.

• You have 4-6 Years of work experience in building highly-interactive applications using Java, Spring MVC, Spring JMS, Spring JDBC, Spring IOC, Spring Boot, MySQL, MiBatis, ReactJS, Java Script, jQuery, AWS, JMS and have knowledge on wide range of web technologies, tools and Frameworks.

Job Description:

Proven experience as a Java Developer with a strong understanding of Java and its ecosystems.

Proficient in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data).

Experience with web application development using technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate).

Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.

Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Experience with microservices architecture.

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Candidate should also have some App development experience in cloud infra. Like familiarity with Docker, Helm Charts, Kubernetes or AWS/Azure k8s infra.

Candidate should have some App development experience in at least one No-SQL Database also (like MongoDB or Cassandra or Redis) apart from RDBMS.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS. 
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture. 
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible. 
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability. 
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required: 

• At least 2 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds. 
• Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database. 
• Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database. 
• Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases. 
• Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j. 
• Experience developing and deploying REST APIs. 
• Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks. 
• Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks. 
• Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications. 
• Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools. 
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git. 
• Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms. 
• Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences. 
• Experience building a large scale social or location-based app.
