Backend Python Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Backend Python Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations that power our AI-driven automation solutions.

You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, AI/ML teams, and frontend developers to build scalable, high-performance systems. This role is ideal for professionals with solid backend experience who are eager to deepen their expertise in Python, cloud technologies, and AI-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend APIs, services, and system integrations using Python
• Collaborate on system design and architecture discussions with senior engineers
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud environments
• Design and manage SQL/NoSQL databases for structured and unstructured data
• Support integration of AI/ML models into production workflows
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and debugging
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevOps processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in backend development
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
• Strong database knowledge: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to AI/ML workflows or a strong interest in learning
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Celery
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming (asyncio, Celery, etc.)
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (PyTest, unittest)
• Understanding of API security and authentication (OAuth2, JWT)

Responsibilities

Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges

Build reusable code and libraries for future use

Build efficient, testable, and reusable Node JS modules

End-to-end ownership of modules, including designing, development, validation, deployment

Specifications:

Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of NODE JS.

Familiarity with One OOPS language

Familiarity with Workers/child processes & performance tuning

Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages (MySQL, and Mongo dB)

Strong knowledge of the common NODE JS or web server exploits and their solutions

Experience -

2-6 Year Qualifications Desired Skills NodeJS, HTML, CSS, Angular/React, JavaScript, Web Application Development, SQL/NoSQL

Must have :

• Strong Experience in Python development

Responsibilities :

• Partner with Business Stakeholders to translate business objectives into clearly defined analytical Projects
• Own the end-end process, from recognizing the problem to implementing the solution
• Understand customer’s requirements and design the optimum solution using Icertis’ AI applications
• Configure, Extend, and optimize Icertis AI app through Python scripts, NLP NER Analysis and other mechanisms
• Take full ownership of project / product features to implement, provide bug fixes and write tests and tooling for those features to ensure they work well at cloud scale.
• Plan and identify solutions and risks in assigned work
• You are expected to be hands on and write code on day to day basis and also mentor other team members

• Develop and maintain server-side logic using Node.js, JavaScript, and Python.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and product managers to create scalable and responsive web applications.
• Design and implement APIs and web services to facilitate seamless integration with other systems.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure the security and data protection of the backend systems.
• Write efficient and reusable code, following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

Your responsibilities: 

• Understand the business context and build high quality code using proven design patterns Develop, test and deploy integrations required to meet business requirements 
• Carry out unit tests and other quality control mechanisms to inform and validate the code and design 
• Utilizing and monitoring cloud infrastructure resources (such as AWS, Azure) efficiently 
• Participate in a highly fluid environment applying agile software development principles 
• Ensure the coding standards are on-par with the best in the industry 

Educational Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).  

Must have skills: 

• 3+ years of work experience with mobile/web development 
• Experience in working with either of languages: Go, Java, Scala 
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) 
• Strong understanding of Message brokers 
• Must have hands on experience in Restful APIs 
• Must have a strong foundation of Data structures and Algorithms 
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems 
• Ability to deploy features on a daily basis: should be good at time management and prioritization 
• Hands-on experience in CI/CD principles and TDD 
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
