Senior Software Engineer (FrontEnd)

Responsibilities include:

• You will design and build web applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Do Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Participate in all phases of development, from design to implementation, unit testing, and release.
• In close collaboration with project teams, you will have the chance to redefine the development process for modern web-based applications.
• You will work highly customer-focused and be given the time to learn and experiment with the latest frontend technologies

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3 - 8 years of experience
• Experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with the latest frontend technologies (e.g. ECMAScript, Webpack, ESLint, Service workers, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of at least one JavaScript framework (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
• Experience or Knowledge of web application optimizations.

• Your Role and Responsibilities

1. Your main job involves creating new features on the visible parts of a website using React.js.
2. You'll be building reusable components that can be used again in the future, saving time and effort.
3. Designs for the website will be given to you, and you'll convert them into actual working and visually appealing website elements.
4. You'll ensure that the website works smoothly on various devices like phones, tablets, and computers.

• Skills and Traits We're Seeking

1. You have a strong understanding of React.js and its workings.
2. You're skilled in a JavaScript
3. Experience with common React.js workflows like Flux or Redux is important.
4. You're familiar with RESTful APIs.
5. Knowledge of modern security measures like JSON Web Token is important.
6. You're comfortable using tools that streamline the process of building website elements, such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM.
7. Translating business requirements into technical plans for the website comes naturally to you.
8. You've used version control tools like Git or SVN to manage and track changes in code.

• Expected Experience

1. You should have accumulated 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in this field.

Minimum Requirements:  

Experience/Skills:  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
• Primary Skillset:  Strong Core Java experience (Java 8 concepts), JSPs, Servlets, Struts Framework 

• Strong in Spring core, MVC and Spring JPA 
• Working experience on UI using jQuery, JavaScript and CSS 
• Experience in Angular is an added advantage. 
• Strong knowledge of XML handling and JSON implementation 
• Strong knowledge of Web Services (REST API) 

• Experience in handling SQL and PL/SQL, preferably SQL Server 
• Knowledge of Postgres is an added advantage. 
• Experience in writing unit test cases with whole code coverage 
• Experience in JMS implementations preferably Apache Active MQ 
• Should be able to write Unit test cases with whole code coverage

• Develop reusable, maintainable cross-platform HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end web application components while adhering to web and team standards.
• Write unit tests to provide sufficient testing coverage for each developed component.
• Constantly review and improve frontend performance of the web application.
• Work with creative and business partners to understand, build and adjust web application functionality and visual presentation to support business goals.
• Work with server-side, infrastructure, and 3rd party technology partners to build, integrate and deploy web application functionality and visual presentation to support business goals.
• Work with project technical lead and/or FE architect to create technical designs and implementation plans.
• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail throughout the development process.
• Remain curious and current with new developments in the FE web development industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated 3-5 years of practical front-end web development experience.
• Expertise in writing and testing valid, web standards-based HTML, CSS, JS.
• Fluent in fundamentals of computer science such as:
• Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Coding Patterns.
• Deep understanding and experience with the following standards and technologies is essential:
• DOM, JSON, AJAX, HTML5 Video, WCAG 2.0 AA, Git.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Sample portfolio (code or public-facing web build) is a plus.
• Experience working for high-end brands or another environment with very high standards for the presentation layer is a plus; Ecommerce experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in full project life cycle (including requirement analysis, system design, development, and support if required).
• Partner with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other developers to plan project work by providing estimates, risk analysis, technical options.
• Support and work collaboratively with teams across areas of design, development, quality assurance, and operations.
• Help define the vision for a product, identify dead ends and routes with untapped potential.
• Attend meetings to discuss and demonstrate solutions at both a technical and business level.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of web application development experience using at least one of the following: Javascript, Web Components, Angular, Polymer, ReactJS, Redux, LitElement, Svelte, VueJS, or knockout.js. Web Components is used and preferred.
• Experience with SPA (Single Page Application) design and implementation
• Experience with HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript/ and AJAX
• Experience working with a variety of APIs and RESTful interfaces
• Experience with performance optimization
• Experience integrating security best practices into the SDLC
• Experience with Git
• 1+ years of Agile development experience
• Experience manipulating and working with data in a variety of forms: csv, xml, json, structured and unstructured
