Senior Devops Engineer

Requirements

• 3+ years work experience writing clean production code
• Well versed with maintaining infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloudformation etc). High proficiency with Terraform / Terragrunt is absolutely critical
• Experience of setting CI/CD pipelines from scratch
• Experience with AWS(EC2, ECS, RDS, Elastic Cache etc), AWS lambda, Kubernetes, Docker, ServiceMesh
• Experience with ETL pipelines, Bigdata infra
• Understanding of common security issues

Roles / Responsibilities:

• Write terraform modules for deploying different component of infrastructure in AWS like Kubernetes, RDS, Prometheus, Grafana, Static Website
• Configure networking, autoscaling. continuous deployment, security and multiple environments
• Make sure the infrastructure is SOC2, ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliant
• Automate all the steps to provide a seamless experience to developers.

Technical Skills: 

·        In depth understanding of DevSecOps process and governance 

·        Understanding of various branching strategies 

·        Hands on experience working with various testing and scanning tools (ex. SonarQube, Snyk, Blackduck, etc.) 

·        Expertise working with one or more CICD platforms (ex. Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc) 

·        Expertise within one CSP and experience/working knowledge of a second CSP (Azure, AWS, GCP) 

·        Proficient with Terraform 

·        Hands on experience working with Kubernetes 

·        Proficient working with GIT version control 

·        Hands on experience working with monitoring/observability tool(s) (Splunk, Data Dog, Dynatrace, etc) 

·        Hands on experience working with Configuration Management platform(s) (Chef, Saltstack, Ansible, etc) 

·        Hands on experience with GitOps 

THE POSITION

Ashnik is looking for experienced technology consultant to work in DevOps team in pre-sales function. The primary area of focus will be Microservices, CI/CD pipeline, Docker, Kubernetes, containerization and container security. A person in this role will be responsible for leading technical discussions with customers and partners and helping them arrive at final solution.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Engineering or equivalent degree
• Must have at least 8 years of experience in IT industry designing and delivering solutions
• Must have at least 3 years of hand-on experience of Linux and Operating system
• Must have at least 3 years of experience of working in an environment with highly virtualized or cloud based infrastructure
• Must have at least 2 years hands on experience in CI/CD pipeline, micro-services, containerization and kubernetes
• Though coding is not needed in this role, the person should have ability to understand and debug code if required
• Should be able to explain complex solution in simpler ways
• Should be ready to travel 20-40% in a month
• Should be able to engage with customers to understand the fundamental/driving requirement

DESIRED SKILLS

• Past experience of working with Docker and/or Kubernetes at Scale
• Past experience of working in a DevOps team
• Prior experience in Pre-sales role

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own pre-sales or sales engineering responsibility to design, present, deliver technical solution
• Be the point of contact for all technical queries for Sales team and partners
• Build full-fledged solution proposals with details of implementation and scope of work for customers
• Contribute in technical writings through blogs, whitepapers, solution demos
• Make presentations at events and participate in events.
• Conduct customer workshops to educate them about features in Docker Enterprise Edition
• Coordinate technical escalations with principal vendor
• Get an understanding of various other components and considerations involved in the areas mentioned above
• Be able to articulate value of technology vendor’s products that Ashnik is partnering with eg.  Docker, Sysdig, Hashicorp, Ansible, Jenkins etc.
• Work with partners and sales team for responding to RFPs and tenders

Linux Administrator Roles &  Responsibilities:

• 5+ or more years of professional experience with strong working expertise in Agile environments
• Deep knowledge in managing Linux servers.

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a relevant field.
• Experience with Linux-based infrastructures, Linux/Unix administration.
• Knowledge in managing databases such as My SQL, MS SQL.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash.
• Knowledge in open-source technologies and cloud services like AWS, Azure is a plus. Candidates willing to learn will be preferred.
• Experience in managing web applications.

As DevOps Engineer, you are responsible to setup and maintain GIT repository, DevOps tools like Jenkins, UCD, Docker, Kubernetes, Jfrog Artifactory, Cloud monitoring tools, Cloud security.

• Setup, configure, and maintain GIT repos, Jenkins, UCD, etc. for multi hosting cloud environments.
• Architect and maintain the server infrastructure in AWS. Build highly resilient infrastructure following industry best practices.
• Working on Docker images and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop and maintain the automation scripts using Ansible or other available tools.
• Maintain and monitor cloud Kubernetes Clusters and patching when necessary.
• Working on Cloud security tools to keep applications secured.
• Participate in software development lifecycle, specifically infra design, execution, and debugging required to achieve successful implementation of integrated solutions within the portfolio.

• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in IT industry.
• Expertise in implementing and managing Devops CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience in DevOps automation tools. And Very well versed with DevOps Frameworks, Agile.
• Working knowledge of scripting using shell, Python, Terraform, Ansible or puppet or chef.
• Experience and good understanding in any of Cloud like AWS, Azure, Google cloud.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is required.
• Proficient in troubleshooting skills with proven abilities in resolving complex technical issues.
• Experience with working with ticketing tools.
• Middleware technologies knowledge or database knowledge is desirable.
• Experience and well versed with Jira tool is a plus.
