Role Overview
As an SEO Manager at MathonGo, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and scaling our organic search strategy. You will work closely with content, product, design, and tech teams to improve search visibility, increase organic traffic, and generate high-intent leads for our products.
This role requires someone who understands both content SEO and technical SEO, and can manage SEO at scale for thousands or even millions of pages.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy & Planning
- Build and execute MathonGo’s SEO roadmap across JEE, NEET, and other exam categories.
- Identify high-value keyword opportunities for exam pages, PYQ pages, question pages, comparison pages, and product-led content.
- Create topic clusters and internal linking strategies to improve topical authority.
- Analyze competitors and identify content gaps, ranking opportunities, and backlink opportunities.
- Define SEO goals, traffic targets, and growth metrics.
Content SEO
- Plan SEO-focused content for blogs, exam pages.
- Create detailed content briefs for writers, including target keywords, structure, FAQs, internal links, and search intent.
- Optimize existing content for better rankings, CTR, and conversions.
- Ensure all content is aligned with student needs, exam intent, and MathonGo’s brand voice.
- Collaborate with academic/content teams to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Technical SEO
- Work with the tech team to improve crawlability, indexability, page speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and site architecture.
- Audit and optimize large-scale programmatic SEO pages.
- Monitor and fix SEO issues related to canonical tags, redirects, duplicate content, sitemap, robots.txt, pagination, and schema markup.
- Implement and validate structured data such as FAQ schema, Article schema, Breadcrumb schema, Course schema, and Question/Answer schema where applicable.
- Ensure SEO best practices are followed during new website launches and product updates.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track SEO performance using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and similar platforms.
- Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, impressions, CTR, indexed pages, backlinks, and conversions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly SEO performance reports.
- Identify pages with ranking drops, indexing issues, or traffic decline and take corrective actions.
- Use data to continuously improve SEO strategy.
Collaboration
- Work closely with writers, editors, designers, developers, and product managers.
- Coordinate with the tech team for implementation of SEO fixes and page templates.
- Guide content teams on SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to align SEO with campaigns, product launches, and seasonal exam cycles.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of hands-on SEO experience.
- Strong understanding of on-page SEO, technical SEO, and content SEO.
- Experience working on high-traffic websites or large-scale content platforms.
- Good understanding of keyword research, search intent, content planning, and internal linking.
- Experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, Screaming Frog, PageSpeed Insights, and similar tools.
- Familiarity with programmatic SEO and large-scale page generation is a strong plus.
- Basic understanding of HTML, metadata, schema, canonical tags, redirects, and crawl budget.
- Ability to work with developers and explain SEO requirements clearly.
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort with SEO reporting.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Prior experience in ed-tech, education, test-prep, or content-heavy websites is a plus.

Duties and responsibilities
● Improve organic search results for desktop and mobile sites on all major search engines
