Job Description

This is a remote position.

We’re in search of a senior back-end engineer that specializes in ROR with excellent
knowledge of core concepts of backend engineering.

Requirements

Must-haves:
1. You need to be excited about the problem that we are trying to solve
2. Should have excellent command over ruby on rails with a minimum experience of 2 years.
3. Additional knowledge in Golang will be an advantage
4. Strong Data Structures and Algorithms knowledge
5. Should have created APIs from scratch which is being used in Production
6. Should be comfortable with creating systems handling up to 100k requests per minute, and have a mindset that understands scale
7. Ability to give clarity and communicate well with the team, including Product, Backend and Dev-Ops (if and when needed)
8. Ability to use profiling tools well, getting to root causes of bugs fast
9. Ability to pick and work on adjacent technologies if and when required (Eg: If the
best performance monitoring solution needs a basic firebase setup, that should
not be a blocker for you to go ahead and do so)
10.Knowledge of how to set up relevant test cases
11. You need to be comfortable working in a remote environment (Have your own
laptop, good internet connection, availability on phone are required)

What do I need? 🤓

1. 3+ years of industry experience in a backend engineering role, preferably building a SaaS product. You can demonstrate the significant impact that your work has had on the product and/or the team.
2. Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language (for example, Ruby, Python, etc.) but it doesn’t need to be a language that we use here! Great people are effective and learn what we use quickly (or introduce us to better ways of working)
3. Experience with scalable distributed systems, both built from scratch as well as on Managed Platforms.
4. Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
5. Extremely data-driven.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who have a **strong development background along with Systems Architecture experience and want to make their career in Consulting Engineering,** This role isn't limited to the software development or support, it involves less coding but more Consulting, Architectural designing/High Availability system designing, Solutioning, Migration, Optimization, customer handling, etc. The ideal candidate should be a highly technical individual, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and comfortable working remotely to match customer time zones for our Atlas customers.

Our ideal candidate will have

* Excellent analytical, diagnostic skills, and problem-solving skills
* High motivation for a role that combines deep technical and customer-management dimensions
* Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting
* **5+ years of software development/consulting/support experience**, preferably in a number of distinct industries/verticals
* Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
* Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Perl, Scala, Go
