Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a Ruby on Rails developer in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails framework, and PostgreSQL.
• Extensive experience with hosting and maintaining production applications on AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Solid understanding of real-time communication and experience with socket programming.
• Experience in implementing AI in real-world applications is a solid plus.
• Experience in front-end technologies, particularly Vue.js would be a plus

Job Description

• Strong understanding of the Ruby programming language and Rails framework
• Proficiency in Javascript including experience with React, Angular or Vue.
• Database understanding (Postgres / MySQL).
• Previous experience maintaining production applications.
• Focus on writing clear, maintainable, tested code.

Skills Required

• Navigating and understanding a large codebase.
• Experience with Git, continuous integration and regular deployments.  Understanding and appreciation of UX and usability.
• Excellent communication skills and diligent ability to contribute to the team by performing code reviews.
• Writing tests using Rsp,c and Capybara.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer / Information Science (BE / BTech) or Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA) Experience:
• Two to five years general software engineering experience
• Experience in web development using the Ruby on Rails web application framework
• At least two years of Ruby on Rails programming experience
• Thorough understanding of the philosophy and design of Ruby on Rails
• Desktop publishing skills: HTML5, xHTML, CSS

Knowledge of:

• JavaScript and JavaScript libraries: jQuery, Plugins etc.
• Unix and Linux systems
• Relational databases: SQL, etc.
• Frameworks: Active record, etc.
• Servers: Nginx, Mongrel, Webrick
• Performance management using New Relic, Web Page Test tools
• SEO rules, minification, rails asset pipelines
• REST APIs and their usage

Highly preferred experience:

• Ability to work with the Amazon EC2, S3, and EBS services
• NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Memcached, CouchDB
• Git, SVN
• Proactive and resourceful person who achieves tasks with minimal oversight
• Team player with the ability and desire to become an integral part of a fast-paced team
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel

• Primary responsibility is to take up product development as a full stack developer and ability to work with the larger product team, arrive at best architectural approach, choose most appropriate frameworks, code and deliver
• Shown success as an individual contributor. Should have consistently demonstrated ability and commitment to deliver major initiatives in a timely manner
• Embrace good development practices including design specification, coding standards, unit testing and code reviews
• A self­starter, who loves to take on hard problems, loves solving service scalability problems, enjoys breaking things and enthusiastic to learn new technologies and working in startup environments

• Familiar with PHP or Ruby or NodeJS. Strong experience in Laravel and/or ReactJS a plus
