Senior UI/UX Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer with 3–5 years of experience to own the design of consumer-facing digital experiences. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and leadership teams to create intuitive, elegant, and scalable user experiences across mobile and web products.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a fast-paced product environment, and has previously designed applications used at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product design lifecycle—from user research and discovery to production-ready designs.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
• Create user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Design clean, modern, and engaging interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
• Build and maintain scalable design systems and reusable UI components to ensure consistency across products.
• Work closely with engineering teams during implementation to ensure design quality and pixel-perfect execution.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in UI/UX or Product Design.
• Proven experience designing consumer-facing mobile applications with more than 100,000 downloads or a large active user base.
• Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work from concept to launch.
• Expertise in Figma, including wireframing, prototyping, design systems, and developer handoff.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design, interaction design, visual design principles, typography, and layout.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Design for Complex Enterprise Features
• Own the end-to-end design process for medium-to-large product initiatives—driving discovery, workflow definition, interaction design, and high-fidelity visual design and prototyping. Use AI-enhanced tools to accelerate exploration and iteration where appropriate.
• Shape Product Direction Through Deep Collaboration
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other designers in an agile environment to design accessible, performant, and elegant interfaces that balance user needs with technical and delivery constraints. 
• Create and Refine Design Deliverables

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years of UX/Product Design experience, preferably in enterprise SaaS environments.
• Expert understanding of UX processes, interaction design fundamentals, and end-to-end design workflows, including how AI is reshaping each stage of that process, from discovery through delivery 
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to design for complex systems, including examples of how AI tools were used to accelerate, enhance, or scale the work. 
• Strong foundation in traditional user research methods, with hands-on experience using AI throughout the research process, from study design and data gathering to synthesis and insight generation, to produce faster, more defensible product decisions. 
• Mastery of core design tools such as Figma, including AI-native features and integrations, and working knowledge of adjacent tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Figma MCP that are increasingly part of the modern design-to-dev workflow.
• Deep experience with design systems, from consuming to contributing at scale, including exploring how AI can automate component generation and accelerate system maintenance.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present design rationale to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple workstreams, including knowing when to apply AI to accelerate decisions and when human judgment and craft should lead.

About AM:PM

AM:PM is a VC-backed news platform built for short-form video, reels, and fast threads, for Gen Z and millennials who want to stay informed without sitting through a panel of five people agreeing with each other for 40 minutes. We go deep without going slow. We understand internet culture because we live in it, not because we read a report about it.

Why this role matters

AM:PM is not building another news app. We are trying to change the form itself. The slash mechanic. The wraps. The newsroom. The discourse layer. These surfaces only work if the design pushes the product forward, not if it plays safe. You will decide what AM:PM looks like, feels like, and how users move through it.

What you will own

• Design the AM:PM app end-to-end across wraps, newsroom, and discourse
• Build the slash interaction for opinion and counter-opinion switching so it feels native, not gimmicky
• Create and maintain the AM:PM design system from the brand foundation up
• Use Figma, Claude, and any AI tool that helps you move faster without lowering the quality
• Run usability calls with real Gen Z users and use what you learn, not what you assume6. Work directly with the founding team and CTO to ship what you design
• Experiment fast, kill what does not work, and double down on what does

Who you are

• 1+ years of designing consumer mobile products that have shipped to real users
• You have worked on at least one Gen Z product end-to-end, not just one screen
• Your portfolio shows visual range, motion thinking, product logic, and more than one design language.
