About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to build, manage, and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure. The role involves deploying product updates, handling production issues, implementing customer integrations, and leading DevOps best practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain production-grade infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance.
• Deploy application updates, patches, and bug fixes across environments.
• Handle Level-2 support and resolve escalated production issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
• Build automation tools and scripts to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Develop monitoring, logging, alerting, and reporting systems.
• Ensure secure deployments following data encryption and cybersecurity best practices.
• Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams for smooth releases.
• Lead and mentor a small DevOps team (3–4 engineers).

Core Focus Areas

Server Setup & Management (60%)

• Hands-on management of bare-metal servers.
• Server provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Network configuration including redundancy, bonding, and performance tuning.

Queue Systems – Kafka / RabbitMQ (15%)

• Implementation and management of message queues for distributed systems.

Storage Systems – SAN / NAS (15%)

• Setup and management of enterprise storage systems.
• Ensure backup, recovery, and data availability.

Database Knowledge (5%)

• Working experience with Redis, MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
• Basic database administration and performance tuning.

Telecom Exposure (Good to Have – 5%)

• Experience with SMS, voice systems, or real-time data processing environments.

Technical Skills Required

THE POSITION

Ashnik is looking for experienced technology consultant to work in DevOps team in pre-sales function. The primary area of focus will be Microservices, CI/CD pipeline, Docker, Kubernetes, containerization and container security. A person in this role will be responsible for leading technical discussions with customers and partners and helping them arrive at final solution.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Engineering or equivalent degree
• Must have at least 8 years of experience in IT industry designing and delivering solutions
• Must have at least 3 years of hand-on experience of Linux and Operating system
• Must have at least 3 years of experience of working in an environment with highly virtualized or cloud based infrastructure
• Must have at least 2 years hands on experience in CI/CD pipeline, micro-services, containerization and kubernetes
• Though coding is not needed in this role, the person should have ability to understand and debug code if required
• Should be able to explain complex solution in simpler ways
• Should be ready to travel 20-40% in a month
• Should be able to engage with customers to understand the fundamental/driving requirement

DESIRED SKILLS

• Past experience of working with Docker and/or Kubernetes at Scale
• Past experience of working in a DevOps team
• Prior experience in Pre-sales role

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own pre-sales or sales engineering responsibility to design, present, deliver technical solution
• Be the point of contact for all technical queries for Sales team and partners
• Build full-fledged solution proposals with details of implementation and scope of work for customers
• Contribute in technical writings through blogs, whitepapers, solution demos
• Make presentations at events and participate in events.
• Conduct customer workshops to educate them about features in Docker Enterprise Edition
• Coordinate technical escalations with principal vendor
• Get an understanding of various other components and considerations involved in the areas mentioned above
• Be able to articulate value of technology vendor’s products that Ashnik is partnering with eg.  Docker, Sysdig, Hashicorp, Ansible, Jenkins etc.
• Work with partners and sales team for responding to RFPs and tenders

Devops Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our products can be seamlessly deployed on infrastructure, whether it is on-prem or on public clouds.

• Create, Manage and Improve CI / CD pipelines to ensure our Platform and Applications can be deployed seamlessly
• Evaluate, Debug, and Integrate our products with various Enterprise systems & applications
• Build metrics, monitoring, logging, configurations, analytics and alerting for performance and security across all endpoints and applications
• Build and manage infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling, solutions, microservices and support services on multiple cloud providers and on-premises
• Ensure reliability, availability and security of our infrastructure and products
• Update our processes and design new processes as needed to optimize performance
• Automate our processes in compliance with our security requirements
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes
• Manage environment where we deploy our product to multiple clouds that we control as well as to client-managed environments

Skills/Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or equivalent positions
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code / Automation tools
• Experience in deploying, analysing, and debugging on multiple environments (AWS, Azure, Private Clouds, Data Centres, etc), Linux/Unix administration, Databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and Redis (both managed instances as well as self-installed).
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell and / or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with the following is a must: Docker, Kubernetes, ELK Stack
• Hands-on experience with at least three of the following- Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, Jenkins, Wazuh SIEM, Ansible, Ansible Tower ,Puppet ,Chef
• Good troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues.
• Strong communication skills and documentation skills.
• Experience with deployments with Fortune 500 or other large Global Enterprise clients is a big plus
• Experience with participating in an ISO27001 certification / renewal cycle is a plus.
• Understanding of Information Security fundamentals and compliance requirements

• Experience in deploying and monitoring microservices on Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and AWS EKS
• Security aware and ensures that all systems are security standards-compliant.
• Good background in Linux/Unix administration.
• Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.
• Minimum 3-5 years of cloud development experience, preferably AWS
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins preferred.
