DevOps Engineer

What You will do

We're looking for bright Senior DevOps engineers that are deeply experienced individual contributors and dynamic team leaders, to join our dedicated DevOps Practice Group. As a Senior DevOps practitioner at Zemoso you’ll use your expertise to provide DevSecOps services to our customers and to our inhouse Dev teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience. 
• 15+ years of overall IT experience
• 10+ years of DevOps experience with 5+ years of it on Azure platform
• Relevant Azure Certification(s)

Must have experience

• IaC tools ARM/bicep template, Azure DevOps
• GITHub repo and GIT tools
• scripting languages Python, PowerShell, bash development experience
• CI/CD design, build management.
• Container tools Docker and Kubernetes
• Azure Policy and permissions provisioning.
• IT experience to design, development (Java Spring Boot), automated testing, REST API’s, Microservices, Pub/Sub architecture
• Costing, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring cloud expenses.
• Architecture drawings and proposals, presentations.
• Stakeholder management.
• Prototyping.

Nice to have experience

• IaC tools CloudFormation, Terraform 
• Build tools Apache Maven, Jenkins
• Networking: DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, CDN and VPN
• Security: NSG, firewall and Azure policies, HTTPS, SSL certificates, KMS key
• Authentication (IAM): SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, Keycloak-based IdAM, LDAP and AD, and/or 3rd-party SSO.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system
• Build a deployment pipeline for AWS and Salesforce
• Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
• Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
• Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as cloud formation template
• Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems
• Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
• Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems
• Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, Fargate, S3, Cloud Formation)
• Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
• Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
• Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Cloud Formation and deploying applications on AWS
• Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Database experience to help with monitoring and performance; PostgreSql experience preferred
• AWS certification preferred

Education

• Bachelors in Engineering or related field

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps including automated system configuration, application deployment, and infrastructure-as-code. 
• Advanced Linux system administration abilities. 
• Real-world experience managing large-scale AWS or GCP environments. Multi-account management a plus. 
• Experience with managing production environments on AWS or GCP. 
• Solid understanding CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, CircleCI/Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory/Nexus. 
• Experience on any configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef is a must. 
• Experience in any one of the scripting languages: Shell, Python, etc. 
• Experience in containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes/EKS/GKE is a must. 
• Solid understanding of SSL and DNS. 
• Experience on deploying and running any open-source monitoring/graphing solution like Prometheus, Grafana, etc. 
• Basic understanding of networking concepts.
• Always adhere to security best practices.
• Knowledge on Bigdata (Hadoop/Druid) systems administration will be a plus.  
• Knowledge on managing and running DBs (MySQL/MariaDB/Postgres) will be an added advantage.

• Continuously improve Conviva SaaS services and infrastructure for availability, performance and security 
• Implement security best practices – primarily patching of operating systems and applications 
• Automate everything. Build proactive monitoring and alerting tools. Provide standards, documentation, and coaching to developers.
• Participate in 12x7 on-call rotations 
• Work with third party service/support providers for installations, support related calls, problem resolutions etc. 

THE POSITION

Ashnik is looking for experienced technology consultant to work in DevOps team in pre-sales function. The primary area of focus will be Microservices, CI/CD pipeline, Docker, Kubernetes, containerization and container security. A person in this role will be responsible for leading technical discussions with customers and partners and helping them arrive at final solution.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Engineering or equivalent degree
• Must have at least 8 years of experience in IT industry designing and delivering solutions
• Must have at least 3 years of hand-on experience of Linux and Operating system
• Must have at least 3 years of experience of working in an environment with highly virtualized or cloud based infrastructure
• Must have at least 2 years hands on experience in CI/CD pipeline, micro-services, containerization and kubernetes
• Though coding is not needed in this role, the person should have ability to understand and debug code if required
• Should be able to explain complex solution in simpler ways
• Should be ready to travel 20-40% in a month
• Should be able to engage with customers to understand the fundamental/driving requirement

DESIRED SKILLS

• Past experience of working with Docker and/or Kubernetes at Scale
• Past experience of working in a DevOps team
• Prior experience in Pre-sales role

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own pre-sales or sales engineering responsibility to design, present, deliver technical solution
• Be the point of contact for all technical queries for Sales team and partners
• Build full-fledged solution proposals with details of implementation and scope of work for customers
• Contribute in technical writings through blogs, whitepapers, solution demos
• Make presentations at events and participate in events.
• Conduct customer workshops to educate them about features in Docker Enterprise Edition
• Coordinate technical escalations with principal vendor
• Get an understanding of various other components and considerations involved in the areas mentioned above
• Be able to articulate value of technology vendor’s products that Ashnik is partnering with eg.  Docker, Sysdig, Hashicorp, Ansible, Jenkins etc.
• Work with partners and sales team for responding to RFPs and tenders

•  Hands-on experience with git and source code management and release management.
• Experience in DevOps automation tools. And Very well versed with DevOps principles and the Agile Frameworks.
• Working knowledge of scripting using shell, Python, Gradle, Yaml, Ansible or puppet or chef.
• Working knowledge of build systems for various technologies like npm, maven etc. 
• Experience and good understanding in any of Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google cloud.
• Hands on Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is required.
• Proficient in troubleshooting skills with proven abilities in resolving complex technical issues. Experience with working with ticketing tools (Jira & Service now)
• A programming language like Java, Go , NodeJS is a nice to have.
