About the role:

Are you a highly motivated and experienced software engineer looking to take your career to the next level? Our team at Lean is seeking a talented engineer to help us build the distributed systems that allow our engineering teams to deploy our platform in multiple geographies across various deployment solutions. You will work closely with functional heads across software, QA, and product teams to deliver scalable and customizable release pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Distributed systems architecture – understand and manage the most complex systems
• Continual reliability and performance optimization – enhancing observability stack to improve proactive detection and resolution of issues
• Employing cutting-edge methods and technologies, continually refining existing tools to enhance performance and drive advancements
• Problem-solving capabilities – troubleshooting complex issues and proactively reducing toil through automation
• Experience in technical leadership and setting technical direction for engineering projects
• Collaboration skills – working across teams to drive change and provide guidance
• Technical expertise – depth skills and ability to act as subject matter expert in one or more of: IAAC, observability, coding, reliability, debugging, system design
• Capacity planning – effectively forecasting demand and reacting to changes
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
• Incident response – rapidly detecting and resolving critical incidents. Minimizing customer impact through effective collaboration, escalation (including periodic on-call shifts) and postmortems

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles running large-scale infrastructure, cloud, or web services
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration and networking concepts
• We work on OCI but would accept candidates with solid GCP/AWS or other cloud providers’ knowledge and experience
• 3+ years of experience with managing Kubernetes clusters, Helm, Docker
• Experience in operating CI/CD pipelines that build and deliver services on the cloud and on-premise
• Work with CI/CD tools/services like Jenkins/GitHub-Actions/ArgoCD etc.
• Experience with configuration management tools either Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or equivalent
• Infrastructure as Code - Terraform
• Experience in production environments with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Coding with one or more of the following: Java, Python, and/or Go

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a Technical Lead role for DevOPs development and support teams.
• Need to communicate & coordinate with both offshore and onsite teams
• Should translate business requirements into project plans and workable item/activities
• Have a thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to implement software following the structured approach.
• Need to perform in-depth technical reviews of project deliverables and ensure it should be defect free (minimize post release defects).
• Understand the current applications and technical architecture and improvise them as needed.
• Stay abreast of new technologies, methods to optimize development process and latest SDKs, testing tools etc

Experience of Linux

Experience using Python or Shell scripting (for Automation) 

Hands-on experience with Implementation of CI/CD Processes 

Experience working  with one cloud platforms (AWS or Azure or Google) 

Experience working with configuration management tools such as Ansible & Chef 

Experience working with   Containerization tool Docker.

Experience working with Container Orchestration tool Kubernetes.

Experience in source Control Management including SVN and/or Bitbucket

& GitHub

Experience with setup & management of monitoring tools like Nagios, Sensu & Prometheus or any other popular tools 

Hands-on experience in Linux, Scripting Language & AWS is mandatory

Troubleshoot and Triage development, Production issues

• As a DevOps Engineer, you need to have strong experience in CI/CD pipelines.
• Setup development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
• Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
• Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments (Mobile, Web API’s & AIML)

• 3+ years of experience as DevOps Engineer and strong working knowledge in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD using Git, BitBucket, CodeCommit, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, etc
• Strong knowledge in Linux-based infrastructures and AWS/Azure/GCP environment
• Working knowledge on AWS (IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling, Lambda, etc)
• Experience with Docker containerization and clustering (Kubernetes/ECS)
• Experience on Android source(AOSP) clone, build, and automation ecosystems
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Groovy, Bash, etc
• Familiar with Android ROM development and build process
• Knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or in a related field
• 4+ years of experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and internals
• Programming experience in Python/Shell scripting
• Strong AWS skills with knowledge of EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Cloudfront, Route53, etc
• Experience in containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience in DevOps & CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Helm
• Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases such as MySql, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills using tools such as strace, tcpdump, etc
• Good understanding of networking protocol and security concerns (VPN, VPC, IG, NAT, AZ, Subnet)
• Experience with monitoring and data analysis tools such as Prometheus, EFK, etc
• Good communication & collaboration skills and attention to details
• Participation in rotating on-call duties

• You have experience of 2-4 years in building high-performance consumer-facing mobile applications at Product companies of a decent scale.
• You can write code preferably in Golang and Python.
• You have experience with debugging production issues and writing RCAs.
• You have demonstrable stories of being on-call and how outages have been handled.
• You have experience developing products on Kubernetes and cloud providers like GCP and AWS.
• You have worked with Cloud Native (CNCF) technologies.
• You have experience automating CI/CD pipelines.
