Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Gen AI / Azure Technical Lead & Architect with strong expertise in leading technical teams and designing scalable, cloud-based AI solutions. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in programming, cloud architecture, and GenAI solution development using LLMs, along with proven leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers to deliver complex IT solutions.
• Design, architect, and implement cloud-based AI applications leveraging Azure and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Develop, integrate, and deploy GenAI solutions using LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
• Provide technical direction and thought leadership to both the development team and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Total Experience: 8–12 years in IT, with at least 2+ years as a Technical Lead or Architect.
• Programming Expertise in one of the following technology areas:
• Python: Experience with FastAPI or Flask, NumPy, and Pandas.
• .NET: Experience with ASP.NET and Web API development.
• Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including but not limited to:

1. Azure App Service / Azure Functions
2. Azure Storage
3. AI Foundry
4. Azure OpenAI

• Database Experience: Proficiency in at least one of the following:
• Azure SQL, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience in integration with LLMs and building RAG-based architectures.
• Minimum of 3 months of hands-on experience in developing and deploying GenAI solutions on cloud platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members and customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure AI Engineer) are a plus.
• Prior experience in leading AI-focused projects or enterprise-scale cloud implementations.

1. 8+ years of hands-on DBA experience in one or many of the following: SQL Server, Oracle, Cassandra

You will be part of the Site Reliability Engineering Team. This role involves the design, scale, performance tuning, monitoring, and administration activities on the various databases (majority on MySQL).

Your day-to-day at Egnyte:

• Build, scale, and administer a large fleet of MySQL servers spread over multiple data centers with a focus on performance, scale, and high availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot critical performance bottlenecks for MySQL databases before it causes downtime.
• Review and assess the impact of database schema design, topology changes prior to their implementation
• Ensure that databases are secured, maintained, backed up, and highly available.
• Review stress testing results and provide recommendations to development teams
• Automate anomaly detection to surface databases with failures, IOPS, deadlocks, and other failure reasons.
• Automate management tasks, streamline processes, and perform standard administrative functions

About you:

• Understanding of MySQL’s (5.7+) underlying storage engines
• Knowledge of Performance and scalability issues with MySQL
• Strong experience with MySQL HA using Orchestrator/ProxySQL/Consul/Pacemaker
• Experience with configuration management like Puppet/Ansible
• Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
• Automation experience with ‘Python/Ruby/Perl’ and ‘SQL’ scripting

Due to the nature of the role, it would be nice if you have also:

• Experience in other distributed systems like Redis, Elasticsearch, Memcached.
