Software Development Engineer

📍 Bangalore (On-site) · Reporting to the CTO · 2–7 years experience

We're hiring a Software Development Engineer to build the systems that keep real-world operations running - from customer-facing products to the internal tools field teams rely on every morning. What you'll do

• Design, build, and ship across the stack: backend services, APIs, mobile and web field apps, and operational dashboards
• Build the systems that run daily operations: deployment, attendance, check-in/check-out, work verification, and issue resolution
• Make products work where the network doesn't — offline-first and vernacular-first experiences built for field-heavy, low-connectivity conditions
• Own features end to end, from design discussions to deployment to on-call
• Work shoulder to shoulder with Product, Ops, and field users to solve what's actually happening on the ground
• Contribute to the data pipelines and analytics that power planning, forecasting, and unit economics

What we're looking for

• 2–7 years building and shipping production software
• Comfortable across the stack, or deep in one area and eager to stretch
• A strong ownership mindset — you ship, you debug production issues at odd hours, and you care whether it actually works for the user
• Pragmatic with trade-offs, able to balance speed against quality without losing either
• Bonus: experience building for low-bandwidth, offline-first, next-billion-user contexts

As per our conversation, please find below the job description for your review. 

·       Strong written/verbal communication skills

·       Minimum 5-14 Years of Core Java Programming with Collections Framework, Concurrent Programming, Multi-threading (Good knowledge in Executor service, Forkjoin pool and other threading concepts)

·       Good knowledge of the JVM with an understanding of performance and memory optimization.

·       Extensive and expert programming experience in JAVA programming language (strong OO skills preferred).

·       Excellent knowledge on collections like, Array List, Vector, LinkedList, HashMap, Hash Table, HashSet is mandate.

·       Exercised exemplary development practices including design specification, coding standards, unit testing, and code-reviews.

·       Expert level understanding of Object-Oriented Concepts and Data Structures

·       Good experience in Database (Sybase, Oracle, or SQL Server) like indexing (clustered, non clustered), hashing, segmenting, data types like clob / blob, views (materialized), replication, constraints, functions, triggers, procedures etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable products
• Participate in code reviews, and design discussions to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
• Pair with team members for functional and non-functional requirements to write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
• Help to define roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
• Understand business requirements and work closely with the business to provide solutions

Eligibility

• Strong expertise in Backend Python Development with skills to create APIs, integrate the functions into UI, and store and retrieve data from a variety of databases.
• Strong experience with Django/Flask.
• Strong experience in writing unit tests.
• B.Tech/B.E (Preferred CSE)

• Very good knowledge of building iOS Apps. 
• Experience in developing iOS SDKs will be preferred 
• Very good knowledge of Swift is mandatory
• Knowledge of Objective C will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of interface builder, Core animation, and Object-oriented concepts.
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• The familiarity with frameworks & web technologies.
• Android experience is an added advantage.
• Team handling experience is an added advantage

• Knowledge of general networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls).
• Experience development & maintenance of a CI/CD system.
• In-depth knowledge of build and deployment automation technologies.

• Experience of implementing DevOps
