Responsibilities and Requirements

• Experience in designing and maintaining high volume and scalable micro-services architecture on cloud infrastructure

• Knowledge in Linux/Unix Administration and Python/Shell Scripting

• Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, Auto-scaling, VPC, Lambda), GCP, Azure

• Knowledge in deployment automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Chef, GitLab) and monitoring tools like Zabbix, Cloud Watch Monitoring, Nagios

• Knowledge of Java Virtual Machines, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Apache Kafka, Microservices architecture, Caching mechanisms

• Experience in enterprise application development, maintenance and operations

• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skill

Job Purpose and Impact

The DevOps Engineer is a key position to strengthen the security automation capabilities which have been identified as a critical area for growth and specialization within Global IT’s scope. As part of the Cyber Intelligence Operation’s DevOps Team, you will be helping shape our automation efforts by building, maintaining and supporting our security infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and evaluate business requirements.
• Implement modern engineering practices to ensure product quality.
• Provide designs, prototypes and implementations incorporating software engineering best practices, tools and monitoring according to industry standards.
• Write well-designed, testable and efficient code using full-stack engineering capability.
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Proficiency in at least one configuration management or orchestration tool, such as Ansible.
• Experience with cloud monitoring and logging services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent exp
• Knowledge of public cloud services & application programming interfaces
• Working exp with continuous integration and delivery practices

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant exp whether in IT, IS, or software development
• Exp in:
•  Code repositories such as Git
• Scripting languages (Python & PowerShell)
• Using Windows, Linux, Unix, and mobile platforms within cloud services such as AWS
• Cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) / platform as a service (PaaS), microservices, Docker containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins
• Databases such as Postgres, SQL, Elastic

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Champion engineering and operational excellence.
• Establish a solid infrastructure framework and excellent development and deployment processes.
• Provide technical guidance to both your team members and your peers from the development team.
• Work with the development teams closely to gather system requirements, new service proposals and large system improvements and come up with the infrastructure architecture leading to stable, well-monitored fly, performant and secure systems.
• Be part of and help create a positive work environment based on accountability.
• Communicate across functions and drive engineering initiatives.
• Initiate cross team collaboration with product development teams to develop high quality, polished products, and services.

Required Skills :

• 5+ years of professional experience developing and launching software products on Cloud.
• Basic understanding Java/Go Programming
• Good Understanding of Container Technologies/Orchestration platforms (e. g Docker, Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of AWS or Any Cloud.
• Good understanding of data stores like Postgres, Redis, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
• Good Understanding of Operating systems
• Strong technical background with track record of individual technical accomplishments
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to establish credibility with smart engineers quickly.
• Most importantly, ability to learn and urge to learn new things.
• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

- Building and maintenance of resilient and scalable production infrastructure 

- Improvement of monitoring systems

- Creation and support of development automation processes (CI / CD)

- Participation in infrastructure development 

- Detection of problems in architecture and proposing of solutions for solving them 

- Creation of tasks for system improvements for system scalability, performance and monitoring

- Analysis of product requirements in the aspect of devops 

- Managing a team of DevOps, control of task deliveries 

- Incident analysis and fixing

Skills and Experience

- Understanding of the distributed systems principles 

- Understanding of principles for building a resistant network infrastructure

- Experience of working with LXC-containers 

- Understanding and experience with infrastructure as a code approach 

- Experience of development idempotent Ansible roles

- Experience with relational databases (PostgeSQL), ability to create simple SQL queries 

- Experience with git

- Experience with monitoring and metric collect systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix)

- Understanding of dynamic routing (OSPF)  

Preferred experience

- Experience of working with highload zero-downtown environments 

- Experience of coding on Python

- Knowledge and experience of working with network equipment Cisco

- Experience of working with Cisco NX-OS

• 2+ years of demonstrable experience leading site reliability and performance in large-scale, high-traffic environments
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills geared to getting things done
• Developing themselves and the talent within their charge – fostering and creating opportunity for the team
• Strong understanding of SRE concepts and the DevOps culture. Set the direction and strategy for your team, and help shape the overall SRE program for the company
• Be able to lead complicated technical issues and communicating status updates/RCA with management and customers.
• Own site stability, performance, capacity planning, DevOps recruitment.
