About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to lead our infrastructure and automation initiatives while mentoring a small team. This role involves setting up and managing physical and cloud-based servers, configuring storage systems, and implementing automation to ensure high system availability and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration skills, hands-on experience with DevOps tools, and the leadership capabilities to guide and grow the team.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Server Management (60%)

• Set up, configure, and manage bare-metal (physical) servers as well as cloud-based environments.
• Configure network bonding, firewalls, and system security for optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement and maintain high-availability solutions for mission-critical systems.

Queue Systems (Kafka / RabbitMQ) (15%)

• Deploy and manage message queue systems to support high-throughput, real-time data exchange.
• Ensure reliable event-driven communication between distributed services.

Storage Systems (SAN/NAS) (15%)

• Configure and manage Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
• Optimize storage performance, redundancy, and availability.

Database Administration (5%)

• Administer and optimize MariaDB, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Handle backup, recovery, replication, and performance tuning.

General DevOps & Automation

• Deploy product updates, patches, and fixes while ensuring minimal downtime.
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
• Administer and automate workflows with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, AWS, and Git.
• Manage web and application servers (Apache httpd, Tomcat).
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Nagios, HAProxy, Keepalived).
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement automation to reduce manual interventions.
• Mentor a team of 3–4 engineers, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

✅ 5+ years of proven DevOps engineering experience

✅ Strong expertise in Linux administration & shell scripting

✅ Hands-on experience with bare-metal server management & storage systems

✅ Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible

✅ Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ in production environments

✅ Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and high-availability tools (Nagios, HAProxy, Keepalived)

✅ Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and leadership abilities

✅ Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and lead teams

Good to Have

• Experience in Telecom projects involving SMS, voice, or real-time data handling.

Job Summary:

The Lead IaC Engineer will design, implement, automate, and maintain infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role should have strong hands-on expertise in Chef, Python, Terraform, and some AWS & Windows administration knowledge.

8-12 years of experience

Secondary – AWS & Windows admin (Cloud is not mandatory)

We are seeking an experienced Operations Lead to drive operational excellence and lead a dynamic team in our fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Python with proven leadership capabilities to optimize processes, ensure system reliability, and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

• Team & stakeholder leadership - Lead 3-4 operations professionals and work cross-functionally with developers, system administrators, quants, and traders

• DevOps automation & deployment - Develop deployment pipelines, automate configuration management, and build Python-based tools for operational processes and system optimization

• Technical excellence & standards - Drive code reviews, establish development standards, ensure regional consistency with DevOps practices, and maintain technical documentation

• System operations & performance - Monitor and optimize system performance for high availability, scalability, and security while managing day-to-day operations

• Incident management & troubleshooting - Coordinate incident response, resolve infrastructure and deployment issues, and implement automated solutions to prevent recurring problems

• Strategic technical leadership - Make infrastructure decisions, identify operational requirements, design scalable architecture, and stay current with industry best practices

• Reporting & continuous improvement - Report on operational metrics and KPIs to senior leadership while actively contributing to DevOps process improvements

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Proven experience of at least 5 years as a Software Engineer including at least 2 years as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, working with complex software projects and environments.
• Excellent knowledge with cloud technologies, containers and orchestration.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python and Bash.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
• Proficient in using Git for version control.

Good to Have

• Experience with Nagios or similar monitoring and alerting systems
• Backend and/or frontend development experience for operational tooling
• Previous experience working in a trading firm or financial services environment
• Knowledge of database management and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of network protocols and system administration

What will you do?

· Define the overall process, which includes building a team for DevOps activities and ensuring that infrastructure changes are reviewed from an architecture and security perspective

· Create standardized tooling and templates for development teams to create CI/CD pipelines

· Ensure infrastructure is created and maintained using terraform

· Work with various stakeholders to design and implement infrastructure changes to support new feature sets in various product lines.

· Maintain transparency and clear visibility of costs associated with various product verticals, environments and work with stakeholders to plan for optimization and implementation

· Spearhead continuous experimenting and innovating initiatives to optimize the infrastructure in terms of uptime, availability, latency and costs

1. Are a seasoned Veteran: Have managed infrastructure at scale running web apps, microservices, and data pipelines using tools and languages like JavaScript(NodeJS), Go, Python, Java, Erlang, Elixir, C++ or Ruby (experience in any one of them is enough)

2. Are a Mr. Perfectionist: You have a strong bias for automation and taking the time to think about the right way to solve a problem versus quick fixes or band-aids.

3. Bring your A-Game: Have hands-on experience and ability to design/implement infrastructure with GCP services like Compute, Database, Storage, Load Balancers, API Gateway, Service Mesh, Firewalls, Message Brokers, Monitoring, Logging and experience in setting up backups, patching and DR planning

4. Are up with the times: Have expertise in one or more cloud platforms (Amazon WebServices or Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure), and have experience in creating and managing infrastructure completely through Terraform kind of tool

5. Have it all on your fingertips: Have experience building CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Docker for applications majorly running on Kubernetes. Hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting applications running on K8s

6. Have nailed the data storage game: Good knowledge of Relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL,Mongo, BigQuery, Cassandra…)

7. Bring that extra zing: Have the ability to program/script is and strong fundamentals in Linux and Networking.

8. Know your toys: Have a good understanding of Microservices architecture, Big Data technologies and experience with highly available distributed systems, scaling data store technologies, and creating multi-tenant and self hosted environments, that’s a plus

3. Certified Amazon Architect Associate or Architect
4. Experience serving as lead (shift management, reporting) will be a plus
5. AWS Architect Certified Solution Architect Professional (Must have)
6. Minimum 4yrs experience, maximum 8 years’ experience.

Required Skills and Experience 

• 3+ years of relevant experience with DevOps tools Jenkins, Ansible, Chef etc
• 3+ years of experience in continuous integration/deployment and software tools development experience with Python and shell scripts etc
• Building and running Docker images and deployment on Amazon ECS
• Working with AWS services (EC2, S3, ELB, VPC, RDS, Cloudwatch, ECS, ECR, EKS)
• Knowledge and experience working with container technologies such as Docker and Amazon ECS, EKS, Kubernetes
• Experience with source code and configuration management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and Maven
• Ability to work with and support Linux environments (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, CentOS)
• Knowledge and experience in cloud orchestration tools such as AWS Cloudformation/Terraform etc
• Experience with implementing "infrastructure as code", “pipeline as code” and "security as code" to enable continuous integration and delivery
• Understanding of IAM, RBAC, NACLs, and KMS
• Good communication skills

Good to have:

• Strong understanding of security concepts, methodologies and apply them such as SSH, public key encryption, access credentials, certificates etc.
• Knowledge of database administration such as MongoDB.
• Knowledge of maintaining and using tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Work with Leads and Architects in designing and implementation of technical infrastructure, platform, and tools to support modern best practices and facilitate the efficiency of our development teams through automation, CI/CD pipelines, and ease of access and performance.
• Establish and promote DevOps thinking, guidelines, best practices, and standards.
• Contribute to architectural discussions, Agile software development process improvement, and DevOps best practices.

• 2+ years of demonstrable experience leading site reliability and performance in large-scale, high-traffic environments
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills geared to getting things done
• Developing themselves and the talent within their charge – fostering and creating opportunity for the team
• Strong understanding of SRE concepts and the DevOps culture. Set the direction and strategy for your team, and help shape the overall SRE program for the company
• Be able to lead complicated technical issues and communicating status updates/RCA with management and customers.
• Own site stability, performance, capacity planning, DevOps recruitment.
