JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator and Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Linux commands and shell scripting, along with experience in handling database administration tasks, particularly with PostgreSQL. Additionally, proficiency in AWS EC2 and cloud fundamentals, AWS networking, server and database monitoring, and securing production environments are essential for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage Linux-based systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

2. Develop and maintain shell scripts for automating system tasks and processes.

3. Administer PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.

4. Deploy and manage AWS EC2 instances, ensuring optimal performance and security.

5. Implement and manage AWS networking configurations, such as VPCs, subnets, and security groups.

6. Monitor servers and databases for performance, availability, and security compliance.

7. Handle production workloads effectively, ensuring high availability and reliability.

8. Implement security best practices to safeguard production environments from unauthorized access and threats.

9. Manage Elasticsearch and Redis instances, if required, to support application needs (experience in these areas is a plus). Linux System Administrator and Database Administrator 2

SKILLS

1. Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator and Database Administrator.

2. Strong knowledge of Linux commands, shell scripting, and system administration.

3. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database administration, including performance tuning and backup/recovery.

4. Proficiency in AWS services, particularly EC2, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.

5. Experience with networking concepts in AWS, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.

6. Familiarity with server and database monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).

7. Ability to manage production workloads and prioritize tasks effectively.

8. Knowledge of security best practices and techniques for securing production environments.

9. Experience with Elasticsearch and Redis is a plus.

10. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Job description:- 

• Strong experience of Angular js and above along with other technologies like HTML5, CSS, jQuery, AJAX with good knowledge of ECMA Scripts.
• Strong knowledge of JS Fundamentals.
• Design & development of Angular applications as per desired specifications, along with experience in frameworks/libraries like jQuery, Bootstrap, Typescript etc.
• Architecture design, development, testing and maintenance of Web Apps, Implementation based on Angular Application MVC Patterns.
• Own end to end product modules/features (from the requirement to going live)- Design & code review, troubleshoot & help team members on issues.
• Gather requirements by interacting directly with the end-users.
• Research on open source framework/technology required for developing the feature/application.

Roles & Responsibilities

Selected engineer's day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Maintaining UNIX user accounts and access managements,

• Good understanding of LDAP vs local IAM management.

• Setting up repositories and maintaining.

• Should be very comfortable with troubleshooting Linux-based systems on issues and failures with good grasp of the Linux command line

• Specialist knowledge in Unix Technologies – RedHat , SUSE Linux & SOLARIS.

• Good hands-on experience in parallel filesystems.

• Good understanding on basic networking technology e.g. TCPIP, ip multipathing, ip aggregation, DNS, DHCP etc.

• Comfortable exploring and testing new Open Source software systems should the need arise to solve particular problems

• Setting up and maintaining SUSE and Red hat Clusters with DRBD, Stonith and Coro sync

• Good knowledge in virtualisation/hypervisor technologies on various operating platforms e.g. VMWare, HPE Service Guard cluster

• Good understanding of the various enterprise technologies e.g. SAN, enterprise backup, enterprise monitoring etc

. • Good knowledge in handling NFS file systems and NFS servers

• Troubleshooting performance issues

• Shell, Power shell and python scripting

• Creating custom image based on the security requirements • Planning and executing security patches periodically

Education, Experience & other requirements

Ø Degree in Computer science, Information technology or any related discipline

Ø Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience into Unix server’s setup, administration, upgrading and support.

Ø Good verbal and written communication and able to manage key stakeholders i.e. project team, security, compliance and IT operations

Ø Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
