Java Engineer

We are looking for a Rust Developer to join our cutting-edge development team as it grows. The candidate must be comfortable working in an agile environment and can take the lead when necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing the product as per the product specification defined by the product managers
• Responsible for performing research on the best methods of implementing the requirements
• Author and curate technical documentation to support delivery, maintenance, and adoption
• Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise governance strategies to optimise the overall performance
• Design and develop automated deployment and maintenance mechanisms
• Solving development challenges and making architectural decisions by understanding the larger picture of the project goals
• Expanding your existing skill set, and picking up on various rust-dependent frameworks
• Confidently communicating and collaborating with your fellow developers in an office set-up.

 

Requirements:

• Must have experience in Rust programming language
• Have excellent knowledge of different data structures and algorithms
• Working knowledge of any other programming language Python, Java, or JavaScript is good to have
• Experience with, or understanding of, Kafka or Redis, Cloud infrastructure services, and Docker is an added advantage
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
• Experience in Backend and APIs development
• Experience in analysing and optimising the platform's performance

What we are looking: - We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. - Your primary focus will be a development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. - You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. - Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Role

Backend engineers at AssetSprout work on our products. They include software for Certified Financial Planners, their clients, and also internal admin tools. They work with the CTO, frontend engineers, and other backend engineers to deliver towards the company’s vision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own product features end to end in a scalable, secure and maintainable way. The buck stops with you on whatever you own.
• Provide technical solutions through design, architecture and implementation. Wear multiple hats in delivering greenfield projects from concept to production. 
• Establish, advocate and bring your experience on coding styles, best practices, and in scaling the product from MVP to production.
• Iterate fast. Display maturity in prioritizing towards velocity while balancing quality. As a startup, we break or make on how fast we deliver.
• Teach and mentor other backend engineers. Focus on providing technical expertise and solutions regardless of how long one has been working professionally.

Requirements

• We are language and framework agnostic as long as you can pick up new technologies.
• Proficient and expert level coding skills with any of the programming languages, preferably Java, Kotlin. Experience in Python, C++, Scala etc. is welcome.
• Develop web applications and services using Spring Boot. Experience with Akka, Play, Flask, Django is welcome.
• Write automated tests with any of the frameworks. We measure success on how well your code is unit tested and integration tested.
• Advanced level understanding of RDMS systems, preferably Postgres. Working knowledge of non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, Cassandra is helpful
• Able to use CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, GitLab, Jenkins etc. and create workflows and pipelines to release to production every other day.
• Expert level understanding of RESTful APIs, pagination, networking concepts around HTTP, thread pools, and other server-side concepts.
• Solid experience of how AWS services work. Some cloud services directly relevant are Lambda, EC2, S3, Dynamo, RDS, Eventbridge, SQS, ElastiCache Redis, Load Balancers etc.

Tech Lead (Experience range from 7-12 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a full product development lifecycle from ideation, design, development, to roll out and support
• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end while hands-on in development as well
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure)

Role and Qualifications:

1. 7+ Years’ of experience, managing teams of 5+ people
2. Must have excellent programming, debugging and scripting skills with a solid understanding of Object Oriented Design principles.
3. Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java, NodeJS, Go, JavaScript, Python programming stacks, and passion for software engineering and craftsman-like coding prowess
4. Knowledge of software practices like refactoring, clean code, domain driven design, Encapsulation etc
5. Hands on experience managing databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis.
6. Exposure to event driven systems and event streaming engines like Kafka
7. Good knowledge of DevOps tooling like docker, kubernetes, ansible/chef, AWS.  

Candidate should have :
Strong technical background in Java, spring (MVC), RESTFUL Web services and Postgres DB
Thorough understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system
Validating user actions on the client side and providing responsive feedback
Writing non-blocking code, and resorting to advanced techniques such as multi-threading, when needed

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop our core web application using service-oriented architecture exposing APIs for internal and external clients. Implement architecture and design patterns to help ensure that systems scale. Establish processes and best practices around development standards. Review product requirements in order to give development estimates and product feedback. Apply technical expertise to challenging architecture and design problems. SKILLS / COMPETENCIES: 4+ years experience in developing enterprise-grade web applications. Experience with software design patterns like MVC, MVVM, etc. Experience working with .NET Core, MVC, Web API and Entity Framework. Strong knowledge of Web Standards and Technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Angular is an added advantage. Experience building applications using service-oriented architecture, web services and APIs. Knowledge of SQL, database design and LINQ. Hands-on experience on Microsoft Azure is an added advantage. Experience working in an Agile environment (SCRUM certification a major plus). Proponent of continuous integration, unit testing (mandatory) and automation. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to work and communicate clearly and efficiently with team members.
