DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend, frontend, and mobile applications.
• Manage cloud infrastructure using AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS).
• Configure and maintain Docker containers and/or Kubernetes clusters.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform / CloudFormation.
• Automate build, deployment, and monitoring processes.
• Manage code repositories using Git/GitHub/GitLab, enforce branching strategies.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, Splunk.
• Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment and development workflows.
• Optimize infrastructure costs and improve performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Docker, containers, and orchestrators (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Strong understanding of Networking, VPC, DNS, Load Balancers, Security Groups.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools: CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation (IaC).
• Good understanding of Node.js or similar application deployments.
• Knowledge of NGINX/Apache and load balancing concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred/Good to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience with Serverless architectures (Lambda).
• Experience with Redis, MongoDB, RDS.
• Certification in AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with security best practices, IAM policies, and DevSecOps.
• Understanding of cost optimization and cloud cost management.

• Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters.

• Improve Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Work with other engineers to troubleshoot Kubernetes issues.

• Role Overview

• Senior Engineer with a strong background and experience in cloud related technologies and architectures. Can design target cloud architectures to transform existing architectures together with the in-house team. Can actively hands-on configure and build cloud architectures and guide others.

• Key Knowledge

• 3-5+ years of experience in AWS/GCP or Azure technologies
• Is likely certified on one or more of the major cloud platforms
• Strong experience from hands-on work with technologies such as Terraform, K8S, Docker and orchestration of containers.
• Ability to guide and lead internal agile teams on cloud technology
• Background from the financial services industry or similar critical operational experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the development team to plan, execute and monitor deployments
• Capacity planning for product deployments
• Adopt best practices for deployment and monitoring systems
• Ensure the SLAs for performance, up time are met
• Constantly monitor systems, suggest changes to improve performance and decrease costs.
• Ensure the highest standards of security

Key Competencies (Functional):

• Proficiency in coding in atleast one scripting language - bash, Python, etc
• Has personally managed a fleet of servers (> 15)
• Understand different environments production, deployment and staging
• Worked in micro service / Service oriented architecture systems
• Has worked with automated deployment systems – Ansible / Chef / Puppet.
• Can write MySQL queries

• Understanding of maintenance of existing systems (Virtual machines), Linux stack
• Experience running, operating and maintainence of Kubernetes pods
• Strong Scripting skills
• Experience in AWS
• Knowledge of configuring/optimizing open source tools like Kafka, etc.
• Strong automation maintenance - ability to identify opportunities to speed up build and deploy process with strong validation and automation
• Optimizing and standardizing monitoring, alerting.
• Experience in Google cloud platform
• Experience/ Knowledge  in Python will be an added advantage
• Experience on Monitoring Tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes ,Terraform  etc

• Extensive experience in designing & supporting Azure Managed Services Operations.  
• Maintaining the Azure Active Directory and Azure AD authentication. 
• Azure update management – Handling updates/Patching. 
• Good understanding of Azure services (Azure App Service, Azure SQL,  Azure Storage Account..etc). 
• Understanding of load balancers, DNS, virtual networks, NSG and firewalls in cloud environment. 
• ARM templates writing, setup automation for resources provisioning. 
• Knowledge on Azure automation and Automation Desire State Configuration. 
• Good understanding of High Availability and Auto scaling. 
• Azure Backups and ASR (Azure Site Recovery) 
• Azure Monitoring and Configuration monitoring (performance metrics, OMS) 
• Cloud Migration Experience(On premise to Cloud). 
• PowerShell scripting for custom tasks automation. 
• Strong experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft based production systems.

What you need to have:

This person MUST have:

• Min of 3-5 prior experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline maintenance and enhancement specifically Jenkins based pipelines.
• Working experience with engineering tools like git, git work flow, bitbucket, JIRA etc
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with CloudFormation/Terraform
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure
• Hands on experience of Linux administration.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes/Docker orchestration
• Works closely with engineering team for day to day activities
• Manges existing infrastructure/Pipelines/Engineering tools (On Prem or  AWS) for engineering team (Build servers/Jenkin nodes etc.)
• Works with engineering team for new config required for infra like replicating the setups, adding new resources etc.
• Works closely with engineering team for improving existing pipelines for build .
• Troubleshoots problems across infrastructure/services

Experience:

• Min 5-7  year experience

• 40 hours a week (11 AM to 7 PM).
