DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend, frontend, and mobile applications.
• Manage cloud infrastructure using AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS).
• Configure and maintain Docker containers and/or Kubernetes clusters.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform / CloudFormation.
• Automate build, deployment, and monitoring processes.
• Manage code repositories using Git/GitHub/GitLab, enforce branching strategies.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, Splunk.
• Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment and development workflows.
• Optimize infrastructure costs and improve performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Docker, containers, and orchestrators (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Strong understanding of Networking, VPC, DNS, Load Balancers, Security Groups.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools: CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation (IaC).
• Good understanding of Node.js or similar application deployments.
• Knowledge of NGINX/Apache and load balancing concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred/Good to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience with Serverless architectures (Lambda).
• Experience with Redis, MongoDB, RDS.
• Certification in AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with security best practices, IAM policies, and DevSecOps.
• Understanding of cost optimization and cloud cost management.

We are looking for very hands-on DevOps engineers with 3 to 6 years of experience. The person will be part of a team that is responsible for designing & implementing automation from scratch for medium to large scale cloud infrastructure and providing 24x7 services to our North American / European customers. This also includes ensuring ~100% uptime for almost 50+ internal sites. The person is expected to deliver with both high speed and high quality as well as work for 40 hours per week (~6.5 hours per day, 6 days per week) in shifts that will rotate every month.

This person MUST have:

• B.E Computer Science or equivalent

• 2+ Years of hands-on experience troubleshooting/setting up of the Linux environment, who can write shell scripts for any given requirement.

• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring AWS or GCP services from SCRATCH and maintaining them.

• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up/configuring Kubernetes & EKS and ensuring high availability of container orchestration.

• 1+ Years of hands-on experience setting up CICD from SCRATCH in Jenkins & Gitlab.

• Experience configuring/maintaining one monitoring tool.

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

• Candidates with certifications - AWS, GCP, CKA, etc will be preferred

• Hands-on experience with databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, RDS).

Experience:

• Min 3 years of experience as DevOps automation engineer buildingg, running, and maintaining production sites.

This team is responsible for the organization's cloud platform, CI/CD, and observability infrastructure. As part of this team, you will be responsible for providing a scalable, developer-friendly cloud environment by participating in the design, creation, and implementation of automated processes and architectures to achieve our vision of an ideal cloud platform.

Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will

• Own and operate our application stack and AWS infrastructure to orchestrate and manage our applications.
• Support our application teams using AWS by provisioning new infrastructure and contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of existing infrastructure.
• Build out and improve our observability infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills

Hard requirements for this role:

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps / Infrastructure engineer on AWS.
• Experience with git, CI / CD, and Docker. (We use GitHub, GitHub actions, Jenkins, ECS and Kubernetes).
• Experience in working with infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Linux and networking administration experience.
• Strong Linux Shell scripting experience.
• Experience with one programming language and cloud provider SDKs. (Python + boto3 is preferred)
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Packer.
• Experience with container orchestration tools. (Kubernetes/ECS).
• Database administration experience and the ability to write intermediate-level SQL queries. (We use Postgres)
• AWS SysOps administrator + Developer certification or equivalent knowledge

• Gather and analyse cloud infrastructure requirements
